“He got off. He said I was the aggressor. That I’d attacked him for no reason and they were right, it’s technically what I’d done. I got sent to juvie.” Maddie stated.
“But you don’t have a record.”
“It got expunged when I turned sixteen. That’s how I managed to join the army.”
“Is that what your nightmares are about?” He asked.
She nodded. “I keep seeing him. I don’t know why I can remember now but I can.”
“It’ll pass. It’s your body’s way of dealing with the trauma.”
“Well I wish it would stop.” Maddie snapped. “It’s making it worse. And this damn leg isn’t helping. Why is it taking so long to heal?”
“You are the most impatient person I’ve ever met.” He muttered and she let out a little chuckle.
“Are we done here?” She asked.
He sighed watching her for a second. “Yeah let’s go.”
