“You think she leaked them?” Maddie said.
“Absolutely. You should have seen her, when she was in my office, the shit she was saying.” Cole snarled. “She thinks you’re having an affair. She believed that I would just fall into her arms and clearly when I didn’t she decided to go down a different route and try to force my hand.”
“In what way?” Maddie asked.
“Why would I want the shame of being with you if the whole world thinks you’re fucking someone else?” He replied.
“That fucking bitch.” Maddie growled.
“It’s just like her.” Brandon said.
“What did you see in her?” Maddie said to him.
He smirked. “She wasn’t always such a headcase and love makes you do strange things,”
“So you loved her?” Maddie asked.
“Yeah in my way. Not sure she ever loved me. She had eyes for Cole right from the start.”
“Sorry Brandon.” Cole muttered.
“It’s not your fault. You can’t help what you like and besides we both enjoyed her for a while.”
“A while?” Maddie repeated.
“We didn’t just fuck her in my office Maddie. We pretty much shared her for a few months.” Cole stated.
“Classy.” Maddie said and they both laughed.
“Like I said before Maddie, you have your kinks and I have mine.” Brandon said.
“So what sharing is one of your kinks?” She replied.
“Not exactly.” Brandon smirked.
“I think this part of the conversation is done.” Cole stated and Maddie laughed at how Cole-like he sounded in that moment.
“So what are we gonna do about Alfred?” She said.
Cole glanced at Brandon and then across at her. “I think we should try to get ahead of this. Can you make contact with him?”
“Urgh.” Maddie said picking up her phone. “I guess we have nothing to lose right?” She muttered before dialling his number and partly wishing that however the hell this conversation was going to go that Cole and Brandon weren’t there to listen in.
Alfred picked up after two rings and she put it on speaker.
“That was quick.” Maddie stated.
“You never call Maddison and considering the circumstances I can guess what prompted this…” He said.
“Right.”
“Are you calling to try to explain yourself?” He asked.
“Not myself. But I think you should understand the situation before you do anything reckless.” Maddie said.
“You mean more reckless than you going to the press?” He growled.
“Why would you think I would go to the press? Why would I want that kind of attention?”
