Maddie triedto roll over but her shoulder slammed into something hard. She tried to sit up and smashed her head again, wincing as the massive bruise on her cheek throbbed worse than ever. It was dark. Pitch black. She moved her legs trying to spread out and her feet barely got a shoulder width apart before they collided with what felt like wood. Rough wood.

Her hands were still bound lying across her front and she gingerly lifted them hitting the same solid surface. She moved them around in a circle, feeling the space around her. She was in some sort of box, a wooden box. It felt like a coffin almost.

She whimpered before she could stop herself and a tiny light in the corner flickered on.

“Wakey wakey.” Jamie’s voice crackled out over a tiny speaker.

“Where am I?” She asked, unsure if he could hear her or not.

“In the ground Mads. Eight metres under the ground to be exact.” He replied.

“Why?” She said before she could stop herself.

Jamie grinned though she couldn’t see it.

“There’s enough of an oxygen supply for you to last three days. That’s all you’ve got. That’s all Cole’s got too.”

She gulped.

“We’ve set up a live feed, a secure one. Cole’s about to get a little surprise.” He added.

“He’s going to stop you.” Maddie snapped.

Jamie laughed. “Oh no he isn’t. He’s going to watch you die Maddie. Slowly too. He’s going to watch you suffocate, knowing there’s nothing he can do to save you.”

She snarled, kicking out, and a load of soil sprinkled down on her.

“I wouldn’t do that Mads, you don’t want the box collapsing. Besides the more you move, the more oxygen you use...”

“Fuck you.” She spat.

He laughed. “You should’ve played nice Maddie. We could have had fun you and I. Just imagine it, I could be making you scream in pleasure right now instead of crying in fear…”

She shut her eyes, biting her tongue, refusing to respond.
