“Nice wheels.” Max said as she walked through the door. She half shook her head at him and went to get a coffee because something told her it was going to be a long week and it was only Monday.

She sat down at the big table across from him and watching as he flicked through a file. Half the team was already in, working away, staring at their screens.

“Anything good?” She asked.

“Just reviewing this before it goes to the Police.” He said and she nodded.

“So another case closed?”

“Yep, we’re right on track Maddie.” He said with a grin and she grinned back before taking a big swig of her coffee.

“So… what happened to the Landy?” He asked leaning back in his chair to look at her.

“Nothing. It’s still as strong as ever.” She replied and Max burst out laughing.

“What?” She asked.

“He hated it didn’t he? He hated that thing so much he bought you a new car. A flashy car that wouldn’t leak or rust on his drive.” Max stated and she smirked.

“He’s an arse.” She replied.

“An arse who always seems to get his way.” Max stated.

“Don’t I know it.” Maddie muttered.

“He’s got good taste.” Max said and Maddie frowned at his words. “The car Maddie. That’s an SV Autobiography. No doubt with every extra available. Those things don’t come cheap.”

“How much?” She asked not sure if she really wanted to know.

“Probably the best part of two hundred grand.” He said and her jaw dropped.

“Two hundred grand?” She half shouted and a few of the team looked between them before making a show of staring at their computer screens again.

“Like I said he’s got good taste.” Max said.

“That’s an absurd amount of money to spend on a car.” Maddie stated.

“Says you. Your sister drives a Porsche 911.” Max replied.

“How do you know what Kelsey drives?” She quipped and he grinned.

“Urgh don’t tell me…” She said taking another mouthful of coffee.

“I follow her on Instagram. She’s great at photography. Really talented.” He said grinning and she threw a pen at him.

“Stop it. That’s my sister your talking about.” Maddie half laughed.

“Yeah well seeing as every man in this country as seen her sucking a dick I don’t think you can really moan.”

“Fucking hell Max.” Maddie replied as literally everyone around them erupted into sniggers.

“Alright, I’ll stop being mean.” He said and she sighed.

“Very noble of you. So what did you want to discuss?” She asked.

“We have a new case. A new client. Private case.” He said tossing a file over to her. She opened it flicking through, there wasn’t anything there of note, a few forms. No real information, nothing.

“Who?”
