Drew hadn’t told the truth to Logan about his relationship with his father. That made him a liar.

Was he a killer, too?

Logan and Ava thanked the couple for their help and then left the club, heading to their car parked about a block away. Ava was scrolling on her phone which wasn’t usual for her. Normally, it was stuck in her purse on silent. He’d lost count of the times he’d tried to call her when she was running errands and she never answered.

She stopped on the sidewalk abruptly, pulling the phone closer to her face. He could hear a voice coming from it, but he couldn’t make out the words.

“What’s so interesting—“

Ava shushed him, giving him a scowl before going back to her phone. She watched and listened for about a minute more.

“You need to see this,” she said, shoving the phone in his hands. “Sam found Abby.”

“That’s good news.” He restarted the video of the local news station. Apparently, finding Abby was breaking news. “Tanner will be happy.”

Except that the video showed Abby being led into the sheriff’s station in handcuffs. She’d clearly been crying, her face red and swollen.

“They arrested her,” Ava said. “They found what they think is the murder weapon in the trunk of her car.”

All along Logan had hoped that Abby was innocent in all of this. It didn’t look like that was the case. There was only one thing he wanted to know now.

Did Tanner know yet?
