MIKHAIL
I leanedagainst the door frame and watched her bathe. Because of the angle from the bathtub to the door, she hadn’t noticed me yet.
Her hands skimmed over the bubbles coming up to the surface, and she smiled a little.
She looked different now.
Lighter.
Carefree.
And, I realized, as a small pinching sensation took hold in my chest right where this black heart of mine lay, that I wanted to keep her like this.
I didn’t want to hurt her.
Didn’t want to see her cry, but now I wondered if she could be happy, being kept by three men.
I wasn’t capable of letting her go even if my brothers wanted to, and I knew they didn’t.
Not with Damien watching her whenever she entered the room, and Nikolay’s possessiveness that bordered on psychotic.
A small gasp startled me out of my thoughts and I looked up to see her big brown eyes on me. Doe eyes.
My heart stuttered.
I ignored it and walked over to her. She leaned down until her chin touched the surface of the water, looking up at me.
I sat on the floor beside the tub and tapped one naked shoulder.
“Careful, sweetheart. Or you might drown in the tub.”
She rolled her eyes, telling me what she thought of my assessment. I grinned at her as she straightened a bit.
The tops of her dusky nipples peeked out from the suds, making my mouth water.
I grabbed the cloth resting on the edge of the tub and slathered it with body wash. She watched me intently.
I pulled one arm up and cleaned her skin.
We didn’t say anything while I washed her, and she watched me with an unreadable expression on her face. Usually, she was so easy to read.
Her eyes darkened with arousal when I moved the cloth over her nipples. They grew rigid from my touch.
My cock hardened at the sight and I could feel my breathing increasing. I’d just had her. We’d just had her, and it wasn’t enough. If possible, I would bury myself inside her forever. I put the washcloth down and cupped her tit. She didn’t move away from me.
Her eyes stayed on me while I played with her nipple.
“You’re so beautiful, but you’re especially beautiful when you look like this.”
She tipped her head to the side. It seemed she was going back to not speaking. I wondered if something had happened to make it so.
“Is everything okay?” I asked.
She shot me a shy smile and nodded sweetly. I didn’t want to examine too closely why the relief I felt over that small action was so profound.
“Good. Nikolay said you’re getting cabin fever?”
She pouted and nodded.
