“Cade! Come on,” she said in a huff.
“Okay, here are my terms. You have to stick around until our great-grandchildren are getting married. If you’re sad, you come to me or Ashley or Bree or anyone. If you need me, you call me. But most importantly, I need you to agree that you are mine, Cassidy Pechkin. You are mine and only mine, and you will be for the rest of our lives.”
Her big brown eyes were filled with tears, her luscious cherry lips full as she nibbled on them. Nodding, she reached for him.
“I agree with those terms, Cade. Now, you agree to mine. You are mine and only mine. You will kiss me every day for the rest of our lives. You will hold me when I’m scared or sad, and you big, bad Cade Norgenson, you will come to me if you’re sad or scared.” Cade wanted to laugh, but the truth was, other than Bodhi, he’d never had anyone that could shake his sadness and fear.
“I think we’ve just struck a bargain that’s mutually agreeable, baby girl.”
Cass wrapped her arms around his neck, his one big hand still covering the top fleshy portion of her breast. Her pajama top opened another button, and his hand was free to settle lower, covering her breast. Cade swallowed as she stared up at him, her lips getting closer and closer.
He let her take the lead as her mouth settled against his own. When she ran her tongue along his lips. He moaned, his fingers gently massaging her breast. His thumb skimmed over her nipple, the hard peak sending shivers down her body. Opening her mouth, she let her tongue play with his, pulling him closer. Finally, she pulled back, her eyes glassy, overflowing with desire.
“Cade,” she whispered. “I’ve never had anyone kiss me that way.”
“Good to know, baby,” he said, placing a quick kiss on her lips. “And you will never have anyone touch those lips again. Just me, Cass. Just me.”
“Agreed,” she said. “What’s on the agenda?”
“Painting?” he asked, tilting his head. She looked out the window and shook her head.
“I’m not sure I feel up to painting, if that’s okay.”
“It’s all okay, baby. Maybe a walk? We could walk down to the other cabin and maybe take the snowmobiles into town.”
“Okay,” she nodded. “I’ll get dressed, and we can have some breakfast first.”
“Nothing more perfect in the world, baby. Nothing.”
