The others nodded at the women. The world might be surprised to know that the RP men relied heavily on their female team, but the RP men knew better than anyone that they were brilliant, determined, tough-as-shit women. Kate came in, whispering in Tory’s ear. She turned to look at the room.

“Pitre is on the run. They thought they had him at his Reston mansion, but he escaped through an old Civil war tunnel. They found an open safe with multiple passports, cash in all denominations and currency, everything. He had a getaway plan, and he’s put it into action. We need to get there,” said Tory.

“Alright,” said Cam. “Excellent work, all of you. We’ll need you on the team going to D.C.” He heard the hitch of breath from their husbands but ignored it.

“Thanks, Cam,” smiled Ani. “But I promised by ooey gooey chocolate sex stick that I’d do ground work, but no combat work.” Cam was shocked that Ani agreed to stay back. He nodded, looking at the others.

“I gave no such agreement,” said Tory.

“Me either,” said Piper.

“I have to stay back,” said Kate. “Will is sick again, and he just wants mommy.” She shrugged, blowing her husband a kiss as she left the room. Cam gave a knowing smirk, happy for once that Will was puking his guts up. Celeste looked at Garrett.

“I’ll be staying back to feed intel to the team. I also think I have some ideas on how to make sure the devices don’t work, even if he somehow gets them in the men.”

“Excellent,” smiled Luke, knowing that his son would be happy that his wife wasn’t leaving the property. “Let’s get over to the cafeteria and see if we can pick a few brains of our visiting Marines. Cade and the team are headed back here. By the time they arrive, we should have a plan for D.C.”

The team filed out, headed to the cafeteria for dinner. He could see the Marines stand at attention as the men entered, all of them telling the young men to sit down. Shaking his head, he remembered what those days were like.

“What do you think, Luke?” asked Cam.

“I think we have two high-ranking officials out of control. Luckily for us, Pitre fucked up, literally. They’ll find him, but I’m more worried about the doctor. He’s got the means to get that shit into Marines.”

“No,” said Eric, shaking his head. “They’ll be looking at him as well. He won’t be able to get near the troops. No. He won’t inject our teams.”

“Shit,” muttered Cam. “He’ll inject the enemy.”

Luke looked at his friends. Son-of-a-bitch, they were right. He’d take his little discovery and sell it to the highest bidders. Right now, it was Eastern Europe that was the hotbed of activity. If he got to them, things were going to change quickly.

“Fuck me.”
