He then turns to Tyagi, who’s confused by this family drama.

“I am sending my team here to take care of the management. If these two create any hindrances, let me know.”

I can’t take more shocks after this one but Aarav announces one more.

“Day after tomorrow, I am throwing our wedding reception party at this mansion. Just informing you two. Don’t want last-minute arguments.”

Mohit groans in anger and is about to hit Aarav when Daadi restrains him.

“You will have to pay for this, Aarav. Don’t think this blow from your end will crash us. The war has just begun,” Mohit challenges before turning around and leaving.

Daadi and Aarav are still glaring at each other and I don’t know how to control this situation.

“I always knew you would poison our family,” Daadi mutters.

“That’s your problem, Durga Raichand. People with so much venom in their hearts for others will always see poison around. One thing I agree with your grandson though.” He takes a challenging step forward. “The war has just begun. Let’s see who wins at the end.”

There’s so much hatred between them that I find it difficult even to breathe here. Without another word, I walk out of the mansion, not sure where I am going, but I just can’t stay here and watch them fight.

I keep walking out, ignoring Aarav’s voice asking me to stop. I don’t even stop when the guards block my way. I push them and stride out of the Mansion gates. Thankfully, a cab is already on standby, so I get inside the cab and drive away.

CHAPTER 17

Aarav

“Follow her,” I shouted at my driver Madan, before getting inside my car. Can’t believe Jhanvi just walked out on me. What is my fault in all this? In fact, I’m the only one who is protecting her from such evil people she has been raised along with. And yet she has no regard for my concern. I can see her cab, a few vehicles away on the main road. I dial her number to ask her to stop, but she doesn’t answer. FINE!! She can’t go to any place that I can’t find and get her back. Fortunately, the route she is taking is the same as it is for AR Mansion. She’s returning home. Then why did she take another vehicle? I could have taken her back home. Did she not want to face me after the gift I gave her? Damn!! I ask Madan to speed up and finally, both the cars reach my mansion at the same time.

“Jhanvi, stop,” I shout again, following her as she strides inside the house.

I run to reach her before she can escape, but the moment we enter, we hear two loud voices arguing.

“You just shut up, okay? I know you were keeping an eye on me,” Jaya barks at Aman who seems to be equally annoyed at her.

“Why would I even bother to do that? I was minding my business until you came out asking me where Aarav took Jhanvi.”

“That’s because I care for my friend.”

“My friend Aarav will not slaughter her that you worry so much.”

“I don’t trust him.”

“Then so be it. We don’t need your trust.”

And the argument goes on until I finally decide to stop it.

“ENOUGH GUYS,” I shout, stunning both Aman and Jaya. The moment Jaya sees us she takes a sigh of relief and comes running to Jhanvi.

“Thank God you’re back. You were not answering my phone, baby. I was worried. Is everything okay? Wait. Are you crying?”

Crying? Jhanvi is crying? I take a step closer to Jhanvi and am about to turn her to me when she moves away without saying a word. She scurries to the stairs, annoying me even more.

“Jaan, don’t do this,” I scream again, following her but to no avail. The moment Jhanvi enters her room, she shuts the door on my face.

No one did that before!! NO DAMN ONE!! I bang the door.

“Jhanvi, open the damn door and talk to me.”

“Go away.”
