Oh!! That’s sweet. I didn’t know how to process this sudden change in my life. I am no longer a lonely woman. I have a husband to take care of and he’s being really sweet. Fisting his shirt, I draw him closer.

“Don’t give me so much liberty that I start getting used to it. I really want to do everything that a wife does for her husband. Like cooking, taking care of his laundry. Do you have any medicines to intake daily or weekly? I can remind you of that even. And yes, I’ll be more than glad to make your protein shake when you exercise. What else?”

That question was for me, but Aarav replies instead.

“What about the bedroom duties?”

I am mindless. Why does he have to be so cheesy and sexy at the same time? I always thought I was prepared to handle a man in my life, but I didn’t realize handling my romantic husband would be so difficult. He grins at the blankness on my face.

This time I tease him.

“You mean changing the bedsheets and pillow covers for you every day?”

Aarav presses an open mouth kiss on my jaw before responding.

“Yes, that too. We’ll need to change bedsheets a lot and don’t worry about the pillow covers, I am hardly going to need a pillow to support my head. I have better options when you are sleeping beside me.”

That’s it! I can’t handle more of this. I hide my face in his chest. Aarav knows he’s drawn out my shyness enough. He hugs me to his body, kissing the top of my hair.

“You are my every fantasy wrapped up in a package, Jaan. And now I can’t wait to unwrap you.”

“Stop.” I finally raise my head and meet his eyes. “One more word and I might end up cancelling my meeting, which I can’t. Let me go and do some work. Please.”

He simply nods, accepting my request.

Lifting my mouth, I press a kiss on his chin. “See you soon.”

And then I am out of the house. I don’t even turn around because I know if I do, I might end up in his arms again.

Oh No. This is not what I expected when I returned home in the evening. Though Aarav and I kept texting a few messages to each other, he didn’t tell me Aman and Jaya were here and they knew about our idea to progress this relationship. Neither I was aware we four would order dinner and share it here tonight. Wow! A part of me is happy to host them, but the other part cannot wait to be with Aarav Raichand alone.

I walk inside the house, dropping my bags on the couch and head straight to Aarav first, who kisses my forehead without bothering about our guests, and asks me how my day was. I ask him the same. After we are satisfied with each other’s replies, we focus back on Aman and Jaya, who stare at us like they saw some unimaginable scene before their eyes.

“Someone is in love,” Aman teases first.

“It’s more than love,” Jaya adds and all I can do is push my body towards my husband as he gives me a side hug.

“Alright, I hope we are still eating dinner together. If you have changed plans, Aman and I can leave.”

Jaya is simply teasing. She won’t go anywhere until she has all the details from me about what happened between Aarav and me. Likewise, even Aman is curious to know more from his friend.

“Naah,” I reply. “No change of plans. Just decide what you want to order while I quickly change.”

“Cool.”

Jaya shares with the men the best food and restaurants we have around here to order, and I rush to the bedroom.

The dinner goes great though I hardly eat. Watching my husband share a friendly time with our friends fills my stomach. It’s around 11:00 pm when I decide to quickly wind up the kitchen chores. Jaya helps me and I give her quick details about how Aarav and I patched up. She’s happy for me and when I ask her what’s going on between her and Aman, she tells me they are just friends. But then soon changes it to – a little more than friends. I ask her more, but she promises to tell me everything once they both confirm what exactly is going on between them. I agree.

Soon, Aman and Jaya leave my home and it’s just us.. Aarav and me. I don’t know what to expect from tonight but I know every moment I spend with Aarav hereon is going to be memorable. I have always craved for my own family, and though Daadi and Mohit were always at my back, I still wanted someone to call them my own in every way. Today, I have Aarav. He’s the only man in my life whom I’ll cherish and give every right on me. The mere thought of it brings goosebumps to my skin. I suddenly recall the way we married; I was forced. But none of that made any difference to me now. We both have come a long way since then. Mistakes are a part of everyone’s life. We did ours, repented, mended them, and now we are on the right track. I am still in the kitchen, almost done with the chores, when his pair of strong arms wrap around my waist from behind, pulling me closer. A second later, Aarav’s nose rubs everywhere on my neck and shoulder blade and I lose track of every thought.

“Why are you hiding in the kitchen?” he murmurs in between these soft kisses over my neck.

Does he need a reply? I don’t have one. I wasn’t hiding by the way. In a spur, Aarav turns me around and pins me to the kitchen counter with his strong arms.
