I am signing a new deal with the Sinha Group here, which will hardly take me 4 hours away from Jhanvi and then I am going to make sure I spend the entire day with her. I have plans!! To surprise her. To make her feel good.

Jhanvi storms out in anger.

“How dare you think I’ll sleep in the same room as you?”

Hmm. I get it. The room is a one-bedroom suite and obviously has only one bed. But the way she said those lines hurt me the most.

“Why?” I loosen my tie without breaking our gazes. “Couples sleep on the same bed.”

“Aarav, please,” she crosses her arms protectively. “We are not regular couples.”

“We are trying to be one, aren’t we?”

Now that zips her lips.

“I don’t see how we are working on this marriage by keeping distance between us all the time. Mind explaining that to me?”

If she was upset a second ago, now she is speechless. I take off my tie and wrap it around my palm, walking closer to my wife.

“Let’s begin this with knowing each other. To be honest, I have an entire file on your life, Jhanvi, but I want to know it from your mouth. Anything.. everything. And you have every right to ask me about mine.”

Jhanvi gulps nervously before nodding in denial.

“I still think it is too soon. Until you lower your temper, control your mood swings with me and accept the fact that I cannot always obey your every given command, I don’t think I want to share a room or open up about my life with you.”

Now I was losing my mind. Despite knowing my eyes might have turned darker to scare her again, I cup her jaw and raise her chin to meet my gaze.

“No one has ever challenged me the way you do, Jaan. Don’t think I’ll accept everything you ask from me.”

“Ditto,” she shrugs my arm and turns away to the bedroom again.

Huh!! Typical Woman again!! Or rather typicalWife!!

Few Hours Later

I can’t believe this. What is Mohit doing here? I was out signing the deal with the Sinhas. It took me almost the entire day to make it happen. It’s evening when I return to the hotel, only to find Mohit walking towards me. Looks like he already knew I was here. Or rather,we are here.Did Jhanvi tell him? No. I negate this last thought. Jhanvi and Mohit are surely playing me, but I don’t want to believe she is cheating behind me.

“Hello, Aarav? The Sinhas really kept you for long. Fair enough if you were alone. But not when you get your beautiful wife along and keep her on her own for almost the whole day.”

My fingers curl into a fist.Don’t Aarav.Don’t create a scene here. Mohit is instigating me, as he knows Jhanvi has become my weakness. I shouldn’t let him drag this chance.

“What are you doing here?” I keep my tone low. Of course, people are walking around us. I don’t want them to see our rift.

“Somebody had to be there to give company to Jhanvi and kill her boredom. Who better than her Ex can that be?”

The moment he says this, I forget my calm and clutch his collar. Can I punch his face? I don’t care about the onlookers and I can take care of the cameras if any of these feeds leak out.

“Stay. Away. From. her.” I remind him again, but all he does is laugh and shrug my hold from his shirt.

“I wanted the same from you. To stay away from the woman, I was marrying. Did you, Aarav? Instead, you forced her to become your wife. Now if we are playing this game, the rules can’t be different for us. Plus, we sow what we reap. Remember that??”

Can I kill him? Like right here? I wish to.!! Whatever he and his grandmother have done to me and my mother, I only planned to destroy them, but if he keeps poking my married life with Jhanvi, I won’t mind putting a bullet right through his chest.

“Anyway, don’t forget to comment on how you liked the dress I gifted Jhanvi today. Her favorite red color. She looks so damn hot in it.”

That’s it. I punch his face. But see the audacity of this man, all he does is laugh again as if it’s a common thing between us.
