He squeezed me to him. “Don’t worry about what tomorrow will bring. Let me hold you.”
I settled into him as a revelation dawned on me. There was no way I could go home to the life I used to have. Three men changed me on a cellular level, and there was no going back for me. Not without the men I cared for.
Because I did. Irrevocably. Even Milo.
That thought, along with the sex, renewed my vigor and energy. I sat up and climbed off the bed despite Milo’s protests.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
I smirked at him. “I can’t sleep. I think sex makes me stronger and rejuvenates me.”
He smiled. “Well, there’s only one way to find out.”
Without another word, he slid off the bed. We got dressed and headed out to the courtyard. Once we stood in the middle, he slowly stepped around me.
“Let’s see what you got,” he said.
“You want me to hit you again?” I asked, appalled.
“No, my darling,” he breathed through a laugh.
I shrugged. “Okay.”
I dug deep into my magic, this time filled with excitement. My hands glowed and sparked. “Whoa!”
“What’s going on here?” Calvin asked as he and Aidan joined us in the courtyard.
“We’re getting a show,” Milo said.
He nodded at me. I smiled to myself and raised my hands above my head. I let loose two streams of electric magic. As soon as they were so high they were nearly invisible, a loud boom shook the air, and my magic exploded in dazzling lights.
“I can create my own fireworks!” I giggled.
“Amazing!” Aidan said.
“Indeed,” Milo agreed.
The men and I celebrated my new powers. I had never felt so amazing before.
Aidan reached for my hand, pulling my attention to him. “So, have you given any more thought to what I had suggested to you?”
“Which suggestion?” I asked.
“He means the one in where you pick just one of us to be with,” Calvin offered.
“Oh,” I said. “Right.”
“Well?” Milo asked.
“I have made a decision,” I said.
The men leaned in closer.
“If I had to choose, I would choose all of you,” I said with a smile. “Because I learned I can’t stand the idea of not having any one of you in my life.”
Then men drew closer as a gale of wind rushed around us. Smoke and purple lightning filled the space between us. Thunder rolled through the air, and there was a weird tugging sensation that nipped at my skin. The smoke flashed with light and all at once, the strange anomaly was over.
Aidan smiled. “She did it!”
