“Who gets to fuck you first,” Kai said and then winked.
At this point, they added me into the conversation. Chase said, “You could let all of us have you at once. That’s another option.”
“That could be fun,” I said.
“No offense,” Kai said. “I love you guys, but there are things I won’t share. And that’s sex with my woman.”
“She’s our woman too,” Jasper said, playfully punching Kai on the shoulder.
“Oh, am I now?” I asked. “When did this little development happen?”
The men settled their attention on me. I let them stand there and stew in the question for a minute. I wanted to see them squirm. Make them think I wasn’t theirs when it was completely obvious that I was.
“Well?” I asked, hoping they would voice their opinions. When they didn’t, I smiled. “I’m just kidding. Of course, I’m your woman. And you three are my men.”
The men let out a sigh of relief and that made me laugh harder.
“For the record, no one is sleeping with me tonight. I will decide who I sleep with and when. There will be no fighting over me, and if there is an issue, we will solve it together. Got it?”
A collection of nods filled my vision as the men smiled at me.
“Good. Now come and give me a kiss,” I said.
They nearly stumbled over themselves to be the first in line, which made me laugh even harder. I thought this was going to be the last night with them, but it was the first night of the rest of my life with my men.
And I couldn’t wait to start redecorating the house.
EPILOGUE: MARCUS
I returned to Chase’s house to check on the human, Cassie. She had gotten her leg caught in a bear trap about a month prior. She was quite a peculiar girl. Beautiful, but peculiar. I wasn’t sure what she was doing in a house of shifters, or how she had come to them. I had been friends with Chase for many years and had visited a number of times and it had always been the three of them. Although, it wasn’t the first time that I had seen a human living with shifters.
I was troubled and distracted by the sheer number of calls I was getting from people who had the unfortunate meeting with a trap. The numbers were increasing as the days went by, and the signs of this being the beginning of something much greater were hard to ignore.
Nevertheless, I stepped through the door intending to get this meeting done and over with quickly so that I could return home. Once inside, I was immediately greeted by the woman I came to examine. She was sitting on the couch with Kai and Jasper on either side of her.
If I hadn’t known any better, I would have said she never had a brush with a bear trap before. But I had seen the wound with my own eyes and had talked Chase and Jasper through getting her leg sealed up when it first happened.
“Good morning, Doctor Marcus,” Cassie said.
I smirked. “Good morning. Marcus is just fine.”
She shrugged and stood from the couch. Walking a hell of a lot better than I would have predicted for her. The tea and the antibiotics must have done a lot better than I had hoped. I had thought she would never be able to walk right again, much less without the use of a cane.
“You’re doing rather well, I see,” I said.
She smiled and twirled in front of me. “Thanks. I had excellent care.”
I pretended to not notice the longing glances she gave to her men. A bite of jealousy stabbed through my center. I cleared my throat, forcing the sensation away long enough to get this visit over with. I nodded and asked, “Any pain?”
“Nope. Good as new,” she said.
“Well, let’s get you checked out and make sure,” I said.
“Sure thing,” she said and walked down the hall. I followed her into Kai’s room. I kept the door open and stayed only long enough to look at how well the leg had healed, check her vitals, and consider the conundrum that stared me in the face. She shouldn’t have healed this well.
It was a wonder that she had. A miracle by some human standards.
“Well,” I said through a sigh. “You’re officially given a clean bill of health. Be careful with it. You got lucky this time, but that may not be so for the next time.”
