Bryson glared at me. I squared my shoulders.

He turned his attention to Collin. “We made a deal. You will honor it.”

Collin barely glanced at the alpha. He waved the man off and took a couple of steps forward. Bryson wouldn’t let it slide though. He followed Collin and made the man face him by stepping in front of him, making the human stop in his advance.

Just as well. I wasn’t one for empty threats and was ready to demonstrate how serious I was if he continued to push the issue.

“I’m talking to you,” Bryson said.

“Well, I’m done talking to you,” Collin argued.

“We had an agreement. You must uphold it,” Bryson added.

I was impressed Bryson was holding his anger in control as much as he was. Then again, maybe there was something behind it. Whatever Bryson got out of his end of the deal it was major. Or maybe there was something Collin was holding over Bryson’s head. That would be interesting.

However, I couldn’t get a hold of that information just with what was said so far. More importantly, Collin seemed rather unmoved.

“You will uphold your end of the bargain or me and my pack will leave,” Bryson said. “Trust and believe, you don’t want to break a deal with me.”

Collin smiled. He was quite handsome if he wasn’t so psychotic. Maybe that’s why he lost his woman. If Kai hadn’t killed his sister, I wondered if Collin would still be here, trying to start a war he didn’t have an iota of hope of winning.

“Go ahead and leave then if you must. Do as you please for all I care. I got what I needed from you anyway.”

Rowan stormed to his father’s side. “I am not going anywhere without her.”

He pointed at me. I scoffed.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

“You belong to me,” he snapped. “You are mine. You will return with me.”

Marcus growled.

“I belong to no one, least of all, you,” I snapped.

Marcus nudged me with his arm.

I looked at him. “What?”

He glared at me, and I realized what I had said.

“Can we talk about this later?” I asked.

He nodded once.

“Your family promised you to me, not these dragons. Come with me now and I’ll forgive this slight. Stay and you’ll never see your family again,” Rowan said.

Fire encompassed me. “Say that again, little prick.”

He growled. “Watch your mouth.”

“Make me,” I snapped.

He smirked. “I’m not leaving without you.”

I stood my ground, hands filling with fire. “Over my dead body.”

Marcus growled in agreement.
