I quirked an eyebrow. “You’re not expecting to undress me too, are you?”
He chuckled. “No, but I do want to help you into the bath.”
“Uh… okay…” I said.
Marcus was acting especially weird. He had never behaved like this before. So, my suspicions were raised as to what exactly was going on. But I know I couldn’t ask him again. He had already shut down the last time I asked. I still wanted to figure out what was going on though.
I got undressed. Right down to my birthday suit.
His eyes widened and took in the length of my body, clearly admiring what he saw. I propped a hand on my hip, stared him deep into his eyes, and asked, “What is all this about?”
He smiled. “Do I have to have a reason to do nice things for you?”
I shrugged. “I suppose not. But this is rather random and sudden.”
“So?” he asked.
“Since when are you random?” I asked, keeping my eyes locked on his.
He held out his hand. “Just get in and enjoy the bath, would you?”
I knew better than to think his statement was a question, and I had to admit that the bath looked extremely inviting. After a few more seconds spent on deciding whether to push the issue or not, I gave up and held out my hand for Marcus to take.
The warmth of his skin filled mine and he helped me into the bath. The second my foot touched the hot water set at the perfect temperature, goosebumps prickled along my skin. I lowered my body into the water and leaned back with a sigh as my eyes rolled closed.
The sensations were absolute heaven.
“Take your time,” Marcus said. “I’ll be back in an hour to help you out.”
I waved him off. “Make it two.”
The bath was exactly what the doctor ordered. No pun intended. And I was going to stay in the water until everything from the past couple of weeks melted away.

Later on,in the evening, long after the most relaxing bath ever, I stood on the balcony with Marcus, sipping wine. I wore an elegant dress that hugged all my curves and dipped low enough on my chest to show the right amount of cleavage.
“Standing out here with you is incredibly peaceful and beautiful,” I said, commenting about the view below. “It has always been one of my favorite places in the castle.”
“I know,” Marcus said.
I smiled. There was only one way I could see this evening getting better, and that was if the other two men were here. “What are Bret and Jax up to?”
“They are out on assignment,” he said. “Why?”
I shrugged. “Just curious.”
I wasn’t the only one dressed sharply. Marcus had on a well-tailored suit, matching the color of my dress. Navy blue. I kept staring at him, wondering why I had never seen him dressed so nicely before. It was a gorgeous sight and I wanted to see more nights like this one happen.
“So, are you ready to tell me what this is all about yet?” I asked.
“You really don’t do well with surprises,” he said and shook his head while laughing under his breath.
“I do just fine with surprises, thank you very much,” I said.
Someone behind us cleared their throat. I turned and settled my gaze on Bret. He smirked. And holy hell, he was dressed up as well. Though his suit was tailored in a different cut, everything else was the same.
“You’re in this too?” I asked.
