CINDY
Silas’s mouth ravished mine. A sharp slice cut into my bottom lip, which barely registered in my mind. It was there, and then it wasn’t. Almost like a memory… or a figment of my imagination. And though I had no idea what this man was doing to me, I liked it.
Of course, it wouldn’t have taken much more to make me willing to throw all my inhibitions to the wind. Though there was something about him that was dangerous, there was another part of him that was equally magnetic. I couldn’t resist him. Even if I tried.
Though this wasn’t my first one-night stand, it certainly wasn’t going to be the last. I wasn’t one for the more traditional relationships. Being tied down to one man felt suffocating. My heart and my mind didn’t work that way. I valued my independence.
With that said, the second he had kicked the other two out, I felt a strange sense of longing for them to return and a sense of relief. Though I had no idea where in the hell that came from, it was there, and it was damn near impossible to ignore.
Even with Silas kissing me.
Then he pulled away, stealing my breath and warmth as he stood inches from me. My mind felt dizzy. I was lightheaded and woozy and light on my feet all at the same time. I settled my attention on my drink and narrowed my gaze on it for several seconds before setting my glare on Silas.
“You drugged me,” I said. It lacked the conviction I had intended it to have.
His eyes widened, somehow becoming more golden. “I would never. I have no need to.”
“If not you then your friend. Apparently, he would,” I said, pushing him away from me. “I’ve wasted enough time here. I’m going to go looking for that guy again. If nothing else so I could wring his neck myself.”
I started to walk away. Silas caught my arm and brought me close to him again. The room around me spun as a wave of dizziness overwhelmed my senses.
“What are you doing?” I asked, words coming out slurred. Once again, my body reacted to him.
“What you are feeling is a chemical reaction to being in the presence of men like me,” he added.
I chuckled. “Men like you.”
He nodded. “Come on, you’re not going to play stupid now, are you?”
“Nope. Just hard to accept,” I said. “Besides, I’m not one who’s prone to making assumptions.”
He smiled, revealing his fangs. I managed to have enough control over my body’s functions to not blink or flinch. I even managed to keep my heart at a steady pace. It wouldn’t have done me any favors to allow him to get the wrong impression of me. He didn’t frighten me. He turned me on in ways I never thought was possible.
He unnerved me as well. But he didn’t frighten me.
He stared at me intently too. Almost as though he was trying to figure me out. He was so still, his sheer lack of movement almost startled me. Then he decided to push his boundaries a little more and stepped in close again.
Uncomfortably close. Dizzying close.
But I absolutely refused to give him an ounce of discomfort. I stood my ground and breathed in his intoxicating scent. It was so familiar, yet I couldn’t place ever having smelled something of the like at any time in my life before now. Before I could figure it out, Silas slid his hands along my sides, pulling me closer to him in the gentlest of ways. The chill in his skin was pleasant.
The dizzying sensation that swam through my system became harder to fight.
I knew what he was doing, and he was damn good at it.
He brought his lips to my ears and softly asked, “Can I kiss you again?”
He pulled away, setting his golden eyes on mine. They were hard to look away from. Then his question registered, and I lost all my sense. I nodded. The movement was barely felt in my neck, but consent had been given.
He smirked and brushed his lips against mine, much softer than before. A few seconds later he deepened the kiss just a little. There was a certain sweetness to his mouth. It was addicting and I wanted to taste more of it. My arms wrapped around him, and he squeezed me tighter into him. A brief sensation of movement and my ass sat on the edge of his desk.
I was in a daze, and I was drunk on his kiss.
I lost all track of time and direction. I became wrapped up in the things Silas was doing to me. At some point, my clothes were gone, and Silas stood before me naked as the day he was born. He adored my body as though I was a magnificent piece of art. Every inch of my skin felt the weight and adoration in his eyes.
It felt like heaven. As though I was being worshiped like I was some sort of goddess.
Silas pushed me back onto the surface of his desk. As I gave in to his urging, his fingers raked the length of my thighs until he reached my knees. Then he dug his fingers into the back of them and pulled my legs apart, allowing him to settle between my legs. His massive erection rested at my swollen, wet entrance.
