Still, I couldn’t do much in the way of getting answers from him if I was too busy with the bar.
Bobby had just walked through the door, and I headed straight for him. He eyed me questioningly as I approached him.
“Think you can handle this for the rest of the night?” I asked.
He looked around and shrugged. “If I have to… what’s going on?”
I shook my head. “I have to go check on something.”
“Cindy, come on now. We just went over this. I know you better than that. You gotta give me something,” he said.
“I don’t really have anything to give right now. Right now, I have to go,” I said.
He stopped me from stepping around him. “Will you at least explain what this is about?”
“Later. I promise,” I said. “Will you take over for the rest of the night?”
He sighed and nodded.
I smiled and patted him on his arm. “Thanks, Bobby.”
I stepped around him and headed out the door. I had only one destination in mind, and that was the not-so-abandoned mansion.

SILAS
No matter what I did, I couldn’t get Cindy off my mind. I had tasted her once and found her much to my liking. So much so, I feared I was already addicted to her. One drop was all it took. One night of passion and release, and I was done for. I deeply ached for her. My dick turned hard just at the mere thought of her body drawing closer to mine.
I closed my eyes and replayed some of my absolute favorite moments from our night together.
A knock sounded on my office door, stealing me away from my sweet, sweet reverie. I forced down my throbbing urge to rub one out and turned to face Xavier, who was standing in the doorway.
“Yes?” I growled out. The second the word had left my lips, I regretted the tone.
He stared at me with concern in his features. I normally didn’t bite his head off like that, so it was understandable to see his reaction. It was a mixture of concern and woundedness. My tone must have come from a place of possessiveness.
“Sorry for the interruption,” he said.
I cleared my throat. “Nonsense. I take it she’s awake now?”
He nodded. “I hung around until after she went to work. I came back here as soon as she left.”
I nodded. “Excellent. Good work.”
I instantly wanted to leave to go see her.
“Will there be anything else?” he asked.
I shook my head. “Not at this time. Thank you, Xavier.”
He stared at me briefly as though he was trying to figure out a hidden meaning behind my words before he turned around and left, and there was a short flash of something that shone through his eyes as he turned away.
It reminded me of something. Of a slap in the face from someone close to me. From Brock, no less. He warned me, and I didn’t listen. Now I had to face the facts staring me in the face.
We all wanted Cindy.
But we all couldn’t have her. Yet, because of my position, I automatically got to have her. I supposed that meant she was mine to keep. And normally that thought would have excited me. Instead, it confounded me.
