“What is it, Mel, you’re scaring me?”
 
 “I think I’m pregnant,” she said with tears in her eyes.
 
 “Oh.”
 
 “Yeah, oh. When I married Pea, he didn’t want kids, Penny. I didn’t want kids.” She let out a breath. “I don’t know what to do.”
 
 Penny pulled her in for a hug. “We’ll take care of it. I promise.”
 
 Melissa hugged her sister close, wondering if she could take care of it.
