“You know I will not allow you to marry a fairy even for peace, Rowali,” I warned.
“You are no fun, Metheus. Maybe one day you will regret that decision,” she sulked, much to Francilia and Fuza’s amusement.
It was true. Rowali was almost at that age when she was expected to marry. Marrying her to a vengeful man of a different species was out of the question.
The rest of the conversation lingered on trivial matters. Soon, words became slurred, at least in the case of Razuku and Fuza. My sister’s nurse seemed to have some problems of the heart, too, after her husband found out about Clem.
Soon, it was time to retire. Instead of feeling tired, I was filled with nervous energy. It was time to Luella once and for all. I loved her. She deserved to know. She did not have to return the feeling.
However, when the door closed for the night, she caught me off guard when she spoke the words I planned to say. She was sitting on our bed while I ensured that the door was secured for the night.
“Metheus, I love you.”
I was filled with mixed emotions: joy, shame, and surprise. I was happy that she said those words, but I was the man – I should have said them first. I had made her wait and wait until she had started saying those words in front of Thomasina.
“I – I, “ I stuttered as I saw her rising from the bed and advancing toward me, like a bit of hurricane or spreading fire.
“Well, say something,” she cried.
“I was supposed to say those words first,” I managed, caressing her hair, wondering why I took so long and why I still had not said them. “I love you, Luella. I love you so much that the thought of you still feeling trapped in this marriage destroys me.”
“I had to say those words. You should have known that I loved you for a long time now, even before you first made love to me.”
“Is that true?” I croaked, my voice dangerously filled with emotions. It was not like me at all, but somehow it was the way I was meant to be with her.’
“Yes! You told me not to expect things beyond the contract. You had hurt me so much, then, but I knew it was not your fault. We were thrown into this marriage together.”
“But I thought that you would have felt that I loved you. Everything that I had said or done – I thought they showed you.”
“I felt them, Metheus. But you are a good man. Sometimes, good men just showed those things because of honor, not love. I had wanted to hear those words from you for a long time.”
“Then, you will hear them over and over for the rest of your life, Luella. I love you. I love you. I love you.”
The declarations ended with a heated kiss. The feelings between us had changed so long ago, but each of us was proud enough to acknowledge it first. Each refused to admit that love had been there for a while.
Luella. I did not know what I would do if she were somebody else. She took charge. I planned to say the words, but she took action. She opened those lovely lips and said the words. But my wife planned to take more charge as she pushed me onto the bed.
When she pulled down my trousers, I voiced protests, but my body welcomed the anticipated onslaught.
“You’ve given me too much, Metheus, when we make love. Let me do this for you,” she begged as she kneeled in front of me.
When she opened her lips again, it was to take in my hard length. I let out a cry as the heat of her mouth and tongue sucked me in. When she let go, she was not done. She stripped off her clothes and then lowered herself onto me, looking like a goddess about to take a ride naked as the day she was born. I reached for her breasts with both of my hands, stroking and pulling at the little hard tips as she continued to ride me until we both cried out.
As with every time we made love, her fire burned bright, enveloping both of us. There was no pain, just pleasure.
