I stopped, and a shadow passed over me. "Cassie?" A hand caressed my shoulder.
It was all I could do to try to breathe properly. It destroyed me when men yelled. It rattled my very soul, bringing every dark memory back to the surface.
"You're shaking," Ford said softly. "Come here."
Suddenly I was wrapped in strong arms, and he was stroking my hair. "I've got you," he murmured. "You're okay."
He smelled like the forest. He held me as if I was meant to be in his arms. As I breathed in his warmth, I felt something shift deep inside me.
I wasn't going to just thank him and leave. Somehow I was going to find a way to spend more time with this incredible man who made me feel totally invigorated and sexy, in a way I hadn’t before.
I had no idea how, but when I stopped trembling, I would find a way to hang out with a rock star.
