Her words caught me so off guard that I couldn’t help but laugh and retort, “Have you ever seen or smelled a steaming pile of hot shit? I really hope I’m not that.”

My words enraged her further, seeing as I had decided to not give her the satisfaction of riling me up for the fight it seemed she was trying to pick.

“Apologize for being in my way,” she snapped.

Man, she was seriously a piece of work. Slamming into me on purpose and then demanding that I apologize for being in her way. She was acting like she was queen of this territory, and to my knowledge, Alora was the only royalty here.

As I smirked, preparing to give her another smartass retort, a new woman appeared between us, shoving the asshole away from me. A whole new level of raw malice covered her face as she saw who’d pushed her.

That look told me they clearly had beef.

“How about you fuck off, Emily?” the newcomer snapped.

Emily narrowed her eyes. “You again? You shouldn’t even be here, first year. Don’t you have someone to fuck? Slut.” The women flanking her, who I assumed were her lackeys, nodded in agreement, both staying out of it and supporting Emily at the same time.

This Emily chick was giving me Chloe vibes, and I wasn’t going to let the newcomer take the brunt of her misplaced aggression alone. Plus, it was 2022. We should be way past slut-shaming women.

“Jealous?” she asked Emily as I stepped up to her side, seeing her arch a brow in challenge.

“Five men? I’m not jealous. There is no way you can keep them satisfied. They’ll all be in other beds by the end of the week.”

I couldn’t help but let out a snort and mutter, “Yeah, jealousy is an understatement.”

My new ally flashed me a grin. “That’s what I thought, like she’s clearly just pissed she’s not getting dick.”

“Five dicks,” I pointed out, not quick to forget she seemed to have multiple guys like I did, from the sound of it. “I’m in a similar position with my monsters, or should I say several positions?”

She laughed in amusement before Emily interrupted, hissing, “And now the sluts are bonding.”

It was obvious she was just mad the attention wasn’t on her anymore, the crowd gathered around us laughing at our words now.

“Hey!” I exclaimed, knowing the best way to shut this bully down was to take her words and own them so she’d see she wasn’t getting to us. “Slut squad activated! It's kinda catchy, don’t you think?”

“Exactly!” she agreed, holding her hand up. “High five for orgasms—someone has to have them.”

Clapping my hand against hers, I corrected, “High five for five orgasms,” emphasizing just how many men she had to treat her like a queen.

Emily reached out to jerk my new friend’s shirt, and before I could intervene, she turned and sent her elbow flying into the asshole’s stomach.

With a cry, she fell to the ground, and I broke into a laugh. Served her right for laying her hands on others. Maybe she’d learn from this, but I doubted it.

“Damn, she’s awful,” I sighed before offering a hand to the woman who’d come to my defense when she really didn’t have to. “Alexandra, by the way.”

“Deva,” she answered before shrugging while looking at Emily, who was being dragged away by her cronies. “She’s a bitch. Hoping that will have her staying away from me.”

“Sort of made my night,” I muttered, happy to find that there were some pretty great people at this school. Taking a moment to really look at her as the moonlight streamed down on her through the trees, I saw her hair was a rich midnight blue that was intertwined with vibrant cerulean strands and indigo highlights. It was stunning.

“Well you should come dance with my friends and me—” she offered before a large man appeared behind her and told her that wasn’t going to happen before tossing her over his shoulder in a caveman way that reminded me of Lucien.

Deva threw her head up and waved at me. “Bye slut-squad buddy!”

Suddenly my monsters were in front of me, shadows swirling in their true forms. “We have to go meet the headmistress right now,” Kylo growled, instantly putting my nerves on high alert with the intensity of his tone.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, looking around for Alora on instinct to make sure she was safe.

“She went to break up a fight between some wolves,” Elwin offered, clearly understanding who I was looking around for. “We need to go, love. She’s waiting for us with a portal.”

A portal? Were we being kicked out?
