The officiate moved through the ceremony. And as we exchanged our wedding vows, I surprised Luca with a present. Before I slid the tungsten ring onto his finger, I turned it so he could see the inscription.

A genuine smile reached his blue eyes. “What binds us will destroy us.”

Those words bound the five of us.

Even if I couldn’t legally marry all of them, those words were the same as I do. So I got the same wedding band for each of them.

Luca lifted my hand to his lips, planting a soft kiss on my skin. Even in a room surrounded by people, I could only see the devilish prince from my dreams.

After the officiant pronounced us husband and wife, he hooked his arms around me and crushed my lips with a passionate kiss.

Our tongues tangled, fighting possession over the other as we lost ourselves. He held my chin, his fingers digging into my skin as if possessed. Like he was afraid I would fade away if he let go. Overcome by emotion, I kissed him with everything I had, swept up by the shivers rushing down my bare arms.

The ballroom doors opened with a bang.

Screams of our guests rang throughout the room. Men shoved women behind them to shield them from the threat. Most of the men in the room aimed their guns at Lorenzo Basile. He strolled down the aisle, his eyes on me, accompanied by a group of men dressed in black suits.

Luca moved me behind him, pressing my chest to his back. My heart beat a million miles per minute. The Knights stood in front of Luca, several rows deep, and had guns in their hands.

Arlo shot up from his chair and moved in front of the Knights. “You’re too late, Lorenzo. My son is married to Alexandrea.”

Lorenzo strolled toward him, a gun in his hand. “Then I guess I no longer have use for her.”

He aimed the gun in my direction, but with dozens of men in the way, he didn’t have a clear shot.

Sonny tapped Finn on the shoulder. “Get Mom and Dad out of here.”

“Take my parents with you,” Drake said.

Finn slipped from the group with Cole at his side. They worked on getting our family members out of the room through the side entrance.

Arlo clutched a gun. “Your issue is with me, Lorenzo. Let’s settle this like men.”

“Your sons took Alexandrea from my island.” He gritted his teeth. “I won her at the auction. I paid thirty million dollars for her, and she is coming home with me.”

Arlo pointed his gun at Lorenzo. “As you can see, Alexandrea married my son. She’s not going anywhere. Even you know the bonds of marriage are unbreakable in our world.”

Lorenzo clicked his tongue. “I don’t adhere to silly American rules.”

“What is it you want?” Arlo fired back. “Revenge for Eva’s death? We didn’t kill her. You already know this.”

“She was my favorite niece.” Lorenzo’s face twisted in disgust. “And you ruined her.”

“She wanted this life,” Arlo said with anger in his tone. “Eva chose me.”

“Arlo, hand the girl over and no harm will come to anyone.” He now had two guns in his hands. “Fight me, and you will all die.”

They were about ten feet apart, their shoulders squared as if they were about to duel. Before either of them could shoot, Dante Luciano stormed into the room with Angelo, Stefan, and Nico at his sides. A team of men followed.

“Hello, Uncle,” Dante said in a cool, deep tone.

He was gorgeous. Tall and muscular, with black hair that looked as smooth as silk, styled off his tanned forehead. His cheekbones were high, his lips full. He reminded me of Luca with his demanding presence, and Marcello with his athletic build.

Dante was the new head of the Luciano crime family in Atlantic City. They had helped the Knights save me from the island. And according to Luca, he had plotted with Lorenzo’s second-in-command to take over the Sicilian family.

Lorenzo’s lips parted slightly at the sound of Dante’s voice. He spun around, his guns lowered at his sides, like he didn’t consider Dante a threat.

“Here to back me up, Dante,” he said in a victorious tone. “About time.”
