Hayden
We bathed together after that.
It was the first time I’d taken a bath in a really long time. Who knew something I found so terrible as a child could be so intimate and wonderful with Logan?
I sat between his legs, my fingers moving the suds around the water while Logan massaged the body wash into my skin.
I smiled when he got to my stomach, his calloused fingers stumbling a little across my skin as I leaned back against him. “Hayden.”
“Hmmm?”
“Are you enjoying yourself?”
“Am I enjoying the fact that you’re pampering me?”
His chest shook when he laughed. “Yeah.”
I let out a long sigh. “Yeah.”
He kissed my shoulder and my breath turned shaky with need. I felt him smile, and I looked down as his hand glided across my wet skin. He was glossing over the important parts, teasing me.
I sat up a little when Logan’s hand moved to my navel, so close to the one place I wanted, and he stilled me with one hand on my hip.
“Behave,” he admonished, and I let out a frustrated sigh.
“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” His finger circled my belly button once, twice, before stalling. “You lost, baby.”
“Lost what?” I asked, feigning innocence.
He nipped my neck. I moved my shoulder up, mostly from surprise, and turned a little to glare at him. Logan offered a boyish grin, making me lose whatever frustration I was feeling moments before.
“Okay, okay. What am I agreeing to?”
Our earlier agreement came to my mind. Logan knew I would lose. He knew how to play with my body better than I did.
I never stood a chance.
His smile widened a fraction before he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. A nervous habit. “The car.”
“What about it?”
“I have two.”
“Congratulations. Do you need a pat on the back for that?”
My sarcasm was coming out heavily, only because I had a feeling I knew where he was going with this, and it wasn’t what I wanted.
“Take the Honda, Hayden. It’s yours.”
“You’re giving me a car?” I didn’t know why I still sounded so surprised; I’d already guessed it. But I was. This was… stupid on his part.
He hardly knew me.
And a car was not something you give to another person you’d only just started seeing.
I shook my head. “I don’t want the car.”
