I opened my mouth, getting ready to tell him that would never happen, when Logan wrapped his arms around my waist, pulled me in close, and kissed me.
My hands moved to his chest, wanting to push him away. But the deeper the kiss went, the harder it was for me to remember why I wanted him away from me in the first place.
My hands curled around the collar of his suit jacket, pulling him in close, as I opened my mouth and mimicked the movements of his tongue with my own.
There was nothing sweet or tender about our kiss. It was volatile, and I felt like I might explode. His hands tightened around my waist, almost to the point of pain, and I clawed at him, wanting to get as close as I possibly could, and even then, it wasn’t close enough. I wanted more. Just more.
He was right.
I’d have begged if I could.
I bit his lip and he let out a low growl, causing a slight rumble to come from his chest. God, I loved that. I wanted to hear all the noises Logan made when he was like this, especially when it was from my doing.
He pulled away first, our breaths noticeably labored, as he rested his forehead against mine. White smoke formed in the tiny space between our lips as I stared at his tragic brown-green eyes, unable to look away. “Mark my words, Hayden. You’ll be mine soon enough.”
I shook my head. “I’m not yours. I don’t belong to anybody.”
He smiled and pressed a quick kiss against my lips. “Your mouth says no, but your body is already mine.”
I shook my head once more, but we both knew I was lying. The hard pounding between my legs from his words was a testament to that. Logan moved his hand, drawing my attention to what he was holding. It was the winter coat. He’d put it on me before, but it must have fallen off during our kiss. Once again, Logan wrapped it around me.
This time, I didn’t protest when he reached in through the arm hole for my hand and pulled it through. He did the same with the other one. Then, carefully, he zipped it up. “Better?” he asked.
“That was pointless. I have to take it off when I get inside anyway.”
He grinned. “I just wanted to see how you looked. I guessed your size correctly, though that wasn’t hard, considering how small you are.”
When I didn’t say anything, he turned me around to the front door of the bar. “Go to work, Hayden. I’ll be here when you’re off.”
I looked back only once, and he was standing by his car, watching me. Then I all but ran to the doors, feeling very unsure of myself.
It was going to be a long night. I knew it.
