"The apartment I'm renting down the street from here."

"You got a place here?" He's moving here for me? I started to get dressed.

"I told you I wasn't going to move slow anymore. I meant it. I don't want to live across the country from you. And I'm not planning on going anywhere without you ever again." He smiled as he grabbed a brigadeiro off the pan and popped it into his mouth.

"What do you think?"

He finished chewing. "I knew there was a reason I fell for you so quickly. These are amazing."

I laughed. I grabbed a container from under the counter and put the rest of the brigadeiros in it. I placed the last one in and closed the lid. These were officially the last thing I'd ever make here. I could feel the tears biting my eyes.

"It's going to be alright." Bryce said and slipped his hand into mine.

I looked up at him. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be. Now that I had him? We could figure it out together. My hand in his made me feel safe and whole. He was all I needed. I could live without the bakery. "I know."

His fingers tightened around mine and he led me toward the door.

I turned around to get one last look at the bakery I had grown up in. Before whatever horrible owner swooped in tomorrow and changed everything.

"I know what you need," Bryce said.

I looked up at him.

"Cheer up sex."

I laughed. "I don't think that's a thing. I've heard of makeup sex, but not cheer up sex."

"Trust me, it's a thing."

"But we just..."

"Oh, that's not a problem. I hope you're ready for a fun night." He grabbed my waist and lifted me over his shoulder.

"Bryce!" I laughed as the door to the bakery closed behind us with a thud.

Chapter 59

Alina

I slowly opened my eyes. For a moment I thought it had all been a dream. But my head was definitely pressed against Bryce's chest. It wasn't a dream. I breathed in his heavenly scent and listened to his steady heartbeat. If it had been a dream, it really would have been more of a fantasy than anything else.

It was tempting to close my eyes again and fall back asleep, but I was too giddy. He's really here. I wanted to kiss every inch of his perfect body. But I didn't want to wake him up. I tried to focus on how secure I felt with his arms wrapped around me. I had no idea what the future held, but I knew I wanted to wake up every morning intertwined with him. Maybe I was being naive. Bryce seemed just as eager to be with me as I was to be with him, though.

I looked up at his face. He looked like he was sleeping so peacefully. I couldn't believe everything he had been through in the past few weeks. And he had kept me out of the loop to protect me. He was trying to keep me safe. Because he loves me. Bryce Walker loves me.

I couldn't resist touching him anymore. I reached up and ran my palm across the scruff on his chiseled jaw line. God, he's so sexy.

Bryce groaned in his sleep.

I didn't bother moving my hand.

He slowly opened his eyes and smiled. "Are you watching me sleep?"

I shrugged. "Maybe."

He laughed and rolled over on top of me, pinning me to the mattress.

"I really like waking up next to you."
