Before I can leave the bathroom and look for Edgar’s toolbox, my phone rings. A text from Ivy. A quick rush of relief turns my knees to jelly. My heart in my throat, I brace a hand on the sink to steady myself.
Your whore is next. Bring anyone else, and she’ll die like an animal, same as your sister.
Dear God. I know where Caleb took her.
Don’t have time for Bobbi.
I dash out and bump into somebody, hard. Nearly blind with urgency, I raise a fist, ready to pummel the other guy.
“Tony, it’s me! Harry!”
I stop and blink as my vision clears a little. See my younger brother, his hands raised. “What are you doing here?”
“Thought I’d stop by just in case.” One look at my face and he turns pale. “Ivy…”
“Caleb has her.”
“Where?”
“The forest where Katherine died.”
Harry presses the back of his hand against his mouth. “Oh my God.”
“Bobbi’s in the bathtub. Take care of her. I have to go.”
I push past him, starting to run, but see the gun rack out of the corner of my eye. I go over, search quickly among the guns, then open the drawer underneath for ammo. The threat to Ivy’s life ends today.
