“Margot she’s...”
“Please don’t ever say my sisters name when my mouth is on you.” I laugh only half joking.
“I’m sorry. No. I mean, Margot will miss me.” She says both pulling and pushing at my chest.
“Spend the night with me.” I whisper in her ear.
“No,” she laughs. “That’s not a good idea.”
“I wasn’t asking.” I say taking her hand and tugging her towards my bedroom on the other side of the hall.
“Asher,” she warns.
“Just sleep.” I say pulling the covers back and taking my shirt off before climbing in.
“This is a bad idea.” She says sitting on the edge of the bed.
“I promise I won’t touch you unless you ask me too. Just lay here and sleep with me.” I say holding out my hand. Her teeth find her lip again causing a groan to escape my chest. Gen’s cheeks turn pink, and she looks away. She lays next to me on the other side of the bed, too far away.
My hand grips her waist before pulling her up against my chest causing her to yelp. I pull the covers over us, nuzzling my nose in her hair and breathing deeply.
“Is that, uh…” Gen trails off, wiggling against my erection causing me to smirk.
“Uncomfortable?” I ask.
“Yes,” she breathes.
“Yes. Now sleep before I change my mind,” I say closing my eyes.
“Asher?”
“Yes, babydoll?” I answer.
“This was a bad idea.” She says.
She was right. Because now, after laying with her in my arms all night, I don’t know how I’ll ever spend a night away from her.
Gen
I had planned on sneaking out of Asher’s bed and back into mine. The warmth from being held – I had never had anything like that. It made me feel safe. Something that while I’d experienced it briefly and I felt safe at Margot’s, this sort of safe was different. It was as if a weight that I didn’t realize was weighing on my shoulders was lifted.
I had just closed my eyes for a minute to soak up that feeling. Just a minute. I think to myself as my legs stretch and my fingers find a toned stomach. My fingers stop and my breathing falters as I realize what I’d done. I’d fallen asleep. In bed. With my best friend's brother.
My eyes jerk open as I try to relax. I slowly lift my hand off of Asher’s stomach, lifting the sheet up carefully.
“You still have an hour before you need to sneak out.” He says, his voice hoarse with sleep. Dammit. I clinch my eyes shut.
“I’m just going to go back to bed,” I say pushing the blankets off.
“You’re in bed.” Asher argues.
“Not mine,” I reason rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
“It’s more yours than Margot’s is.” He states the look in his eyes making me turn away, because the look in his eyes make me want to believe it.
“Goodnight, Asher.” I say with my hand on the door handle.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He smirks.
