Page 206 of One More Kiss

She squinted one eye and bit her lip then asked, “You’re not, married, or engaged, right?”

Trying hard to keep eye contact and not drop my mouth back to her breast, I answered, “No. Why? Are you?”

She giggled and let go of my wrist. “No, but apparently it’s something you have to ask these days.”

I leaned up so I could get a good look at her face. “CJ, are you sure you want to do this?”

“Very sure. Except—”

I growled in frustration and sat up. “It’s fine. I told you. I was just trying to sneak a kiss. We put the brakes on.”

I reached one hand out to her to pull her up, then reached down and pulled the blanket on the bed over her shoulders.

“No. I really do want to I just. Argh.” She shook her head and covered her face with the blanket.

I grabbed her shoulders and leaned to where I knew she was peeking from the blanket. “Do you want to talk about it, or should I pretend this tree isn’t at full attention in my underwear and get dressed?”

She sighed, the blanket still covering her face. “I don’t want you to think I’m some tramp who casually sleeps around.”

I tried to stifle my laugh, but my body shook, and she pulled the blanket from her face. “Hey! It’s not funny,” she said in a high-pitched voice.

“Until right now, who you slept with is not my business. However, going forward, I’d like to think it’s just me unless you discuss otherwise with me first.”

Her brows pinched together. “Going forward?”

I shrugged. “Well yeah. I’m not a tramp that just casually sleeps around, either, CJ. We may be trapped right now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t expect to see you again once we’re free.”

I barely got the word out before she grabbed my face with both hands and assaulted my mouth.
