“We literally just had sex.”

“Yeah, after he’s been wanting to be more than friends for months. It’s not just sex he’s after.”

“And how do you know?”

“I know all,” Brooklyn said with a smile.

“Uh-huh.”

“And you’re sleeping with his best friend,” Pam added.

Brooklyn shrugged. “That definitely adds to my knowledge.”

“Has he said anything?” Bailey wondered. “Ugh, that makes me sound like such a girl.”

“You are a girl.” Lillian rolled her eyes. “And there’s nothing wrong with it.”

“For the record, Tucker’s been trying to get him to ask you out for a while now. Oh, here they come. Hey, boys.” Brooklyn smiled widely as the guys took their seats at the table.

“Any good conversation while we were gone?” Adam wondered and handed Lillian her drink.

“Nope, not really.” Pam winked at Bailey.

“How about we go dance?” Brooklyn asked Tucker.

“You got it.” He stood and pulled her up with him. They were followed by Lillian and Adam, and Pam accepted the invite from a handsome stranger, leaving Bailey and Simon sitting alone.

“Did you want to dance?” He wondered.

“Can we talk first?” Better to find out where they stood now.

“Sure. What about?”

Bailey chewed on the inside of her cheek. “What do you want from this.” She gestured between them.

“Whatever you’re willing to give me. I don’t want to scare you.”

“A relationship?”

Simon leaned forward. “I have wanted to be with you since the day I met you. You are beautiful, smart, kind, and funny as hell. If you are open to a relationship, then absolutely. But if all you can give me right now is sex, that’s okay too. For now.”

She smiled. “You know, for the first time, I think I am actually open to a relationship. But there is something you should know first.” She leaned in closer. “If you hurt me, I will kick your ass.”

Simon closed the distance and pressed his mouth to hers. “Good to know.” He stood and pulled her onto the dance floor.

As she spun around and held onto him, Bailey couldn’t keep the grin off her face. She founded her own business, was in an actual relationship, and it was only July. It had her wondering what the rest of the year would bring.
