Miles’ Mistake
A Splintered Souls Prequel

“You know you want this dick,”Rob said as he stood hovering over me.
His road name was Shrap, short for “shrapnel,” or something dumb like that, but I only ever referred to the guys by their real names in my head. Out loud, it was their road names because I did my best to keep from being on their radar.
Yet here I was on his radar anyway.
Rob wasn’t totally awful to look at. He was tall, probably six feet, with dark hair that always looked a little greasy, even when he had it pulled back into a ponytail. You’d think he’d take care of that. His full beard wasn’t long like the old timers’, but being around thirty, he was almost one of them.
Not all guys lasted long in the Skulls and that was their own fault most of the time. Deal in illegal weapons and drugs and chances were something bad might happen to you.
“I really don’t,” I told him. Dick was the last thing I wanted from any of them.
“Come on, Trinity. Isn’t that what you’re here for?”
My cheeks burned.
I knew that to the guys I was a club whore. In their eyes it was the only reason I was here. Someone to fuck when the mood struck. Someone to take the dick even when she didn’t want to. Most of the time, I could avoid it pretty easily by not being here, but sometimes, I couldn’t avoid it at all. Not when my brother did what he did to protect me then turned to the Skulls to protect him. It was my penance, the price I had to pay for all that protection which I now wasn’t sure was worth it.
When those times came, I went willingly because if I’m being honest with myself, it was the reason I was here.
For them to fuck when they got the itch. The first rule I’d been given when my brother had joined and brought me with him was that as someone there for their use, turning them down could mean bad things for both of us.
Still, I sometimes made it a little harder for them, but unfortunately, most of the guys liked the challenge.
“Doesn’t mean I like to be treated like that’s why I’m here,” I countered.
“Fuck, Trin. Club whores are here for the club to fuck. That’s it. You get to be here behind our gates, and we get to use that pussy.” He moved in closer, though he wasn’t talking quietly at all. The entire main room of the clubhouse could hear him if they had the inclination to listen. “Now, why do we have to do this every time? If you don’t like the way it works around here, you’re free to leave.”
I took a deep breath and swallowed hard. “I wasn’t saying that I want to leave.” Or that I actually could if I did want to. He made it sound so easy when, in reality, it was anything but. “I just…” After glancing around the room to see if any of the families had arrived yet, I sighed. They hadn’t. “Today is supposed to be a family event.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You think you’re family.”
My brother sat off to the left, hearing everything that was being said, yet he acted like he didn’t care. Maybe he didn’t. We had similar coloring with our hazel eyes though his blond hair was a lot darker than mine. Outside of the club, he was protective as hell. When it came to one of his brothers, how they behaved meant nothing to him.
“If I’m not, then why am I at family events? My brother is a member. Doesn’t that make me family, too?”
Rob chewed on his bottom lip, fighting back a shitty grin, like he was humoring me.
“Of course you are, baby, but right now, Slash and I have other, less family-oriented plans for you. We’ll be done before the others arrive.”
Fuck, shit, fuck.
I thought I was only pushing Rob by making sex harder for him to get because he hadn’t mentioned other plans with Slash.
Slash was one that you didn’t piss off. He’d gotten his road name for a reason and wasn’t afraid to use his knife. In any situation. Sometimes he even liked to use when a girl didn’t do anything wrong and that was one thing I didn’t want to see today.
This was going to happen either way, but having Slash pissed off because of my attitude would mean it would be less pleasant for me.
“Oh, well…” I gave him a big grin. “You should have told me the entire plan.”
Rob chuckled. “Nah, I like that you’re a brat. Come on.” He yanked my arm to get me moving behind him.
