“It’s got to be the Carpones,” I said and watched their reactions carefully.

Peter, Hunter, Arlo, Justin, and Philip’s faces tightened with rage, and their nostrils flared with anger. They despised the man; their reactions were genuine. They weren’t the mole.

Sebastian and Timmons shook their heads, their faces void of emotion.

“If it’s him,” Joe said, “the boss will get revenge. There’s no doubt about it.”

If I was going to uncover who the fuck was the mole, I needed to focus my energy on these two bastards.

Marco stepped out of the shadows. “The shipment is gone. Timmons and Joe, who the fuck did you speak to this morning?”

Both men glanced at one another, confusion written all over their faces.

“The rest of you, go back to the house,” Marco said.

I turned on my heel and marched away.

“The fucking drugs, you morons. When you arrived to check the product out this morning, who did you speak to?” Marco’s hardened voice followed me toward my jeep. I was unable to hear the responses

First, Vin’s daughter was almost killed. Now, he’d lost his drug shipment. Whoever was doing this was fucking with him, and they weren’t even hiding it any longer.

Once I found the mole, Vin said he would hand over everything I needed to take down Frank. Part of me wondered if I would get the information before Vin killed Frank.

I climbed into my jeep and pulled out my cell. I sent a quick text to my handler to check into the cameras at the docks. See if he could find any information on who came and went.

Vincenzo Bilotti was losing the war and if it continued, he would lose a lot more than that.

When I arrived back at the Bilotti mansion, two of the captains were gone, which meant Vin was gone as well. I clenched my jaw as I made my way through the house and toward the basement where the movie theater was located.

“You’re here,” Avery breathed as I entered the room. She sat on the sofa, a blanket wrapped around her, watching a horror movie.

I raised a brow. “You think this is a good idea?”

She shrugged, lifted the blanket off her, and held it open. I didn’t even hesitate; I took a seat and she covered me with the damn blanket.

“You’re just in time. The movie only started a few minutes ago,” she said, as she gave me a blinding smile. “Here.”

She passed me a bowl of popcorn, and I settled in to watch the movie.

Having her so close was wreaking havoc with my good intentions. Every time a particular tense or scary scene happened, she edged closer to me.

“Avery, honey, are you okay?” I asked softly.

At this point, she was practically sitting on my lap.

She shook her head. “Why is it so terrifying? The first one wasn’t this bad.”

I chuckled and pulled her in closer to me. “I was fully expecting a chick-flick when I walked in here.”

She narrowed her eyes at me. “I don’t do chick-flicks. Not my style.”

I couldn’t help but glance at her perfectly pouty lips. When I returned my gaze to her eyes, I noticed her confused expression. I couldn’t deny my feelings any longer.

I pressed my lips against hers and took everything I’d held back from. She moaned low in her throat as she straddled my legs

I growled as I deepened the kiss. Fuck, her grinding against my aching cock was more than I could bear. She felt amazing in my arms. This was where she was meant to be.

Now that I’d had a taste of her, there was no way in hell that I would let her go.
