Cole
Waking nextto Josie was like seeing a sunrise for the first time. Her body curved into mine in a seamless fit, hot and searing until I knew I’d never want to wake up alone again. I traced the softened lines of her face with light fingertips, unwilling to wake her but unable to prevent myself from touching her.
Thick eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks. She stretched languorously, wrapping her arms around my neck when I leaned in to claim her mouth. “Morning, Cole.”
“Morning Josie.” I kissed her again until her eyes were heavy with desire rather than sleep. My fingers curled into her hips as I pressed her back, letting my weight settle over her, and stopped.
“What?” Her eyes flashed open. She wiggled but I'd set my mind to it. “What are you— please, I want to—”
“I know what you want.” I laughed; it was the same damn thing I wanted, every day. “You have no idea how bad I want to fuck you right now, so i can still feel your body where it pressed to me while you screamed. I want you to look at me like I’ve just had you every damn morning. That’s why we’re not.”
“No?” Josie’s brow dipped, and she pressed up for another kiss. “Please?”
“No, you desperate, horny little thing. You'll have to wait.”
“For what?” A wariness replaced the need in her eyes.
“For tonight.” I watched her, let her come to her own conclusion.
“I can come back here tonight? We can— you want to—”
“Yes, I absofuckinglutely want to. Waking with you wrapped around be broke something or maybe I’ve wanted something and didn’t know it until you. I have no idea how much time we have together. But if you want to share my bed each night, then I want to wake next to you.” Every day for the rest of my goddamn life.
But I didn’t say that. I couldn't. In no universe did it sound sane to say that to a girl I had met the day before.
“Are you sure you want me?” Josie stretched her arms above her head. Her hips wiggled beneath me.
I gripped one tight, watching with satisfaction as her mouth opened. “I’m sure as hell certain. Now get up, cause we’re both late already.”
She stared at the window, at the sunlight filtering through. “Oh. Oh! Shit.”
I laughed, watching her scramble for everything and dreamed of the day I could wrap her in my shirt and make breakfast for us both with her wearing nothing else. A man could dream.
For now, this would do.
