My humans make everything so complicated.

Life is a cycle.

We all begin. We live. We end.

They’ve had two little lives taken from them far too soon.

But they’re here.

They’re alive.

And now, they’ll be okay.

So, powers that be up there… I’m ready. Don’t force them have to decide.

I’m old. I’m in pain. I’ve had a good life.

The best life.

He sighed, the fog of sleep settling in to take him under. He blinked as his eyelids slid shut on the view of his humans holding each other tight.

This time they wouldn’t let go.

The pain lessened and lessened until it vanished completely and he sighed one long exhale of sweet relief.

In the distance two smiling little girls ran through the grass chasing butterflies. The minute they spotted him, they smiled and waited for him to join them in the backyard of their house on Bluebird Circle.
