Their names match who they are. All that muscle attached to sexy names. My body zings a bit, and the lust returns before I stamp it down. I need to get out of this alley, do something, anything, that doesn’t remind me of blood or sex.
“Can we get out of here? Maybe go somewhere?” I ask, not sure what his answer will be. Am I going to be alone after this? They’ve used me for their purposes. What if they don’t want to be around me any longer? Panic floods my system. Will I be alone to suffer through this forever?
“Sure, we can go for a drive. If you’re in the car and not surrounded by people, your hunger might be easier to control. I also have some blood bags.,” he says, giving me a smirk. Vampire humor, hilarious.
We walk back to the building, but instead of going through the front door, there is a side entrance we use. Draven pulls out his keys and holds the door open for me. A cool burst of air hits my face, and I look up to see a ceiling fan right above me. I don’t shiver like I normally would. I know the air is cold, but it doesn’t bother me.
It’s dark, but with my fresh sight, I’m able to see we’re in a garage. Cars of all makes surround the open floor plan. Draven flips open the light and I get my first glimpse of what heaven really looks like.
“Oh my gods,” I exclaim, turning to him so he can see the shock on my face. Cars are a passion, they’re everything. Probably because I could never afford one, but it’s also because they are sexy as fuck.
“You like cars?” he asks, a smile plastered on his face. He walks into the room and does a little spin with his arms held out. It’s an invitation to look. “Pick any car you want and we’ll take it for a spin. Unless you want me to choose?”
“I’m a car enthusiast, but I could never decide,” I say, trying to keep my cool.
What I really want to do is jump around and scream like a girl who just got a pony. But I’m at a loss for words. I have so much I want to say, but my mouth and brain aren’t connecting.
“The look on your face makes me think it’s more than that,” he says with a smile. “What kind of car do you drive?”
“I don’t have a car. It’s too expensive to keep in the city, and there is never any parking. I look from afar,” I say, walking over the Mercedes S650.
Its diamond-white with a black interior. All smooth lines and soft edges. I run my fingertips down the side of it, making sure not to leave prints, but also being close enough to touch it. A sigh escapes my lips as I look inside the window.
A beep sounds from the car, and I look up to see Draven pointing the key fob in its direction. A pop sounds and the car unlocks. I look at him for approval, and when I see him nod, I pull the door open. The smell of leather mixed with wood grains pulls at my senses and I close my eyes for a moment. There is no better smell than that new car smell.
I slide down into the passenger’s seat, my ass cradled by the supple leather. My feet are on the floor of the plush rug. I’m totally in heaven right now. The dashboard looks like something from a futuristic movie or a spaceship.
Draven gets in next to me and starts the car. The hum of the engine coming to life is like the sound of a babbling brook. I close my eyes to just listen. A fine-tuned German machine. I’ve always wanted to be here, in this moment of pure bliss.
“Are you okay?” He asks, shifting in his seat so that he can face me. I crack an eye open and see that his entire demeanor has changed. The lines in his forehead have smoothed out, and he looks more like a supermodel than a bouncer.
He hands me a blood bag from the center console, which is cooled like a refrigerator. I grab it out of his hands and rip into it like an animal. The blood coats my mouth, and a groan comes from my lips.
“You’re going to have to stop moaning, or we won’t make it out of here.”
I gulp down the rest of my blood, watching him shift in his jeans. I want to reach out and touch him so badly, but I don’t I tuck my hands under my thighs instead and throw the blood bag in the garbage near my feet.
“Umm… I think I’m okay for now. The blood helped. Thank you for taking me down here,” I say, closing my eyes again.
I feel the car rumble beneath me, as Draven shifts the car into gear. A gate opens, and we ride out into the night. Opening my eyes back up, I take in our surroundings. This city has always been my home, but now everything is different. It’s all changed. There is no going back for me.
