She grins, exhausted. “Be with you? What do you mean?”

“I need you in my life. I can’t be without you. Not anymore.”

“I don’t think I can be without you, either,” she says. “Especially after those orgasms you just gave me…”

I laugh and roll onto my back beside Holly. With one of my arms still around her, I pull her tight to me and kiss her forehead.

“So, what, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend now?” she says with amusement.

Something deep down in me already knows I want far more than that. I want her to be my fiancée. My wife. The mother of my children.

But for now—yes. Boyfriend and girlfriend, for at least a little while.

“Yes,” I say. “Exactly.”

“Sounds perfect,” she says, and gives me a sexy grin.

Chapter Seven

Holly

Nick and I are two little cheesy lovebirds the whole next day at the Christmas market. Every chance I get, between helping customers, I run over and grab a kiss from him.

As for the gold-repaired pottery?

It all sells out before noon.

I know that this whole thing between Nick and I does seem ridiculously fast, but…I don’t know. It also feels exactly how it should be. Nick and I are perfect for each other, really. We work together so well. We have mind-blowing chemistry. Yeah, he might be significantly older than me…but age is just a number, you know?

We’re just about to start packing things up that evening when my brother stops by. Oliver is still sick, but he’s looking so much better than when I saw him yesterday morning. As soon as I see him, I give him a hug and excitedly tell him about how successful today was.

Of course, I have some other pretty important news to break to him, too.

Nick beats me to it, though. With a steady voice, he tells Oliver that he knows it will probably come as a shock, but that the two of us are together now.

Oliverdoeslook shocked. He splits a look between Nick and I.

“Together? You two? Really?”

“I’ve liked Holly for a long time,” says Nick.

Oliver shakes his head in disbelief. “Wow. Okay. That’s nuts. But…hey. I’m not going to stand in your way.”

I breathe out a huge sigh of relief.

Still, a little part of me remains cautious, since Oliver isn’t exactly his normal self right now. Thankfully, though, a couple days later, when Oliverisback to his normal self, he’s just as cool about it. I mean, it’s not like he’s jumping for joy about the news, but it’s clear he’s not going to put up a fight about it, either.

Which is good, because Nick and I?

Yeah, we’re not going anywhere.

The next few weeks are better than anything I could have ever dreamed up. Nick and I go on date after date, until I can’t keep track of them anymore. Nick and I are out on a post-dinner walk when the first snowfall of the season arrives, and it’s the most magical moment ever.

Well, that is, until Christmas morning. I wake up that morning already full of joy—it’s Christmas, after all—but then there’s a surprise knock at my door and I open it to find Nick standing there. He has a bunch of presents in his arms and that silly ol’ Santa hat on his head…and another in his hand for me. I laugh and let him in and as soon as he sets the presents down we start to kiss.

Then he tells me he loves me for the first time.

And I don’t have to think about it at all—I tell him I love him, too.
