“Can we go shopping tomorrow?” I voiced, wiggling on Henry’s lap. “Isn’t Halloween on Saturday?”

“Yes,” Croy stated before smirking. “We could go to a party, sugar—”

“No,” Marco growled, making my body light up.

I think that was becoming his new favorite word.

Croy chuckled, offering me a massive smile like I’d said something hilarious.Oh crap, had I said that out loud? Oops.I had to admit, I loved how relaxed Croy seemed right now in comparison to before. I knew he wouldn’t admit it, but I think in large part it was because he was no longer in the Dreki realm. Earth realm was far more normal for him. Heck, even I felt better being here instead of there.

“Marco,” I whispered and leaned across Henry’s lap, the man taking my glass of wine from me so I could stretch further. I let out a small giggle as I landed on my stomach and Henry held me captive, his large hand smoothing over my silk-covered butt. He didn’t bother hiding how hard he was, but he did manage to keep his attention on the screen as I looked back at Marco, who was watching me with undisguised amusement. I had no idea what he found so funny, but I liked his smile.

“Yes, baby girl?” he asked, reaching to grab a piece of my hair and tuck it behind my ear. It was such a sweet move, I couldn’t help but smile.

“Halloween? Let’s do something, please?”

“We can do whatever you want,” Marco promised, his eyes darkening with concern at my request.

“Maybe I want to go to the party,” I pointed out, half teasing him.

“Party here with just us, coming right up,” Sai agreed.

“I mean, I love that idea,” I voiced. “What about if I had a sleepover with Jordan? But then that doesn’t feel very Halloween-ish. Plus, I like being able to be in bed with you guys, so that doesn’t work.”

“We could go to the one downtown at Essence,” Anani said to Marco.

“Are you joking?” Marco deadpanned.

“We own an entire private suite. It would be completely safe,” Atlas added. “In fact, it would be safer than having anyone here in some ways.”

“Yes!” I tried to sit up, but Henry just kept his hand on me, making me scowl as he continued to ignore me. I could see that he was smiling though. I would have called him on it if I wasn’t so focused on this Halloween situation.

“That could be fun,” Anani agreed, yawning. “We would have to up security though. Do we know who is playing that night?”

“I think I saw it was Fall of Influence,” Ledger called out from where he was grabbing a beer in the kitchen. Now that was a cool band name.

“We are going!” I announced, my eyes closing as the exhaustion from the day convinced me that it was time for bed. The last thing I remembered was being carried upstairs and placed between two muscular bodies.
