“Hi,” I offered a bit shyly. “I’m Maya.”
She placed the coffee on a table underneath an umbrella before turning back to me. “Oh, I know. It is an absolute pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Moretti. I know last time you were in France you weren’t able to visit, but Mr. Moretti has been preparing the place for a bit now.”
Mrs. Moretti? Why did I love the sound of that so much? Sai chuckled softly at my reaction, and I poked him in the side.
“Marco really likes this place,” Sai explained when I offered him a questioning look.
Clearly.
“Would you like anything to eat?” she asked.
“No, I don’t want to bother—”
“Yes, yes she does.” Sai brushed his fingers over my lip, and I considered nipping his finger but held back. My mates tended to get very worked up when there was biting involved.
“She hasn’t eaten since yesterday.”
Was that true? Crap.
“Oh, we will fix that.” She turned towards the door before I called out, asking for her name.
“You can call me Claudia,” the woman stated before flashing me another smile.
“She seems really nice,” I offered.
“She is,” Sai agreed. “But next time you consider biting my finger, Maya, just know that I plan on biting back.”
My eyebrows shot up. “I was not planning on that.”
His lips pressed up into a smile. “Right, I’m sure.”
“She called me Mrs. Moretti,” I whispered.
Sai lifted my hand up and brushed his lips against my ring, looking more than pleased. “Seems about right.” Sai shrugged. “I mean, you do have a ring on your finger. To humans, that is more important than the flight mark or mating marks on you…one of many reasons why it was such a brilliant idea.”
“I was never asked officially,” I said primly.
Sai tugged my waist forward so I was on his lap as he nipped my collarbone and caused me to squirm. “Don’t need to ask… Plus, that implies you can say no. And you can’t. You’re already ours, kitten. The ring is just another way of marking you.”
A shiver ran up my spine as I brushed my lips against his, knowing that he was right. Knowing that I was theirs, but that they were mine as well.
“What if I want you guys to have rings as well?” I teased.
“Well, then I suggest we just get married.” He flashed a smile.
I nibbled my lip and offered him a small smile. “Okay. Let’s get married.”
Sai’s eyes went round as he tightened his grip on me. “Really?”
“Yes.” I nodded, and he suddenly stood up and placed me back on the chair, striding towards the house.
“Sai!” I let out a small giggle. “Where are you going?”
“To plan a wedding!” He looked at me like I was being ridiculous.
“Come back here.” I motioned, and he was in front of me in a second, crouched down.
“What?” He tucked some hair behind my ear.
