Once he’d taken care of a few chores, he traveled to town and purposely entered the same bar, hoping she’d be there.

Before he could ask, Ted handed him a phone. “What’s this?”

“Your attacker left it here last night. Or at least, I think it was her. She had her hand on the counter before she kissed you, and the phone was lying in the exact place.” Ted grinned. “I figure a hotshot FBI cop like yourself could trace her and get it returned, maybe earn another kiss for your trouble.”

“Okay, smartass. Thanks. I’ll see that she gets it back.”
