“I… Zara and Aaron…” Heartache saturated every inch of me, but I forced myself to take a breath.
Had I misconstrued things?
Had I jumped to conclusions before getting the full story?
But it didn’t make sense. Zara had been leaving the pool house and Aaron was in there half-naked covered in her lipstick.
If they hadn’t had sex, what the hell had they been doing?
“What did my jerk face of a brother do?” Sofia ground out.
“I thought they… you know.”
“What? What?” She seethed, eyes narrowed to thin slits. “I’ll kill him. I murder him with my bare hands, and then I’ll find her and—”
“Okay, Rocky,” Ashleigh clamped her hand over Sofia’s mouth. “Let’s all just calm down and take a breath. Eli needs some ice and I think we need to get you and Poppy home.”
“Okay.” I nodded. Because I wasn’t ready to talk to Aaron.
Not yet.
Not until I figured out what the hell I was going to say to him.
