He doesn’t look like he believes me.

“I’m serious. I think that’s the beginning of the change we need. Next we need to get rid of the Omega Council altogether. Their practices are fucking archaic. Why can’t omegas find a mate or mates on her own?”

“Well, a lot of people think it’s safe this way. Omegas being assigned is better than them being taken against their will.”

“Not really. Who’s to say the assignment is any better than being taken? I mean, you guys aren’t bad, but you know some omegas end up with alphas who do deplorable things. At least if you give them a choice, they can decide to be with the fucktards. Then that’s their fault.”

Lucas frowns at his coffee. “I guess you have a point.”

“Of course I have a point.” I take an aggressive bite of my toast, narrowing my eyes. “Right now omegas are property. We’re not free and no matter how hard the OC tries to make it seem glamorous, it’s not.”

“You’re right.” Lucas nods, meeting my gaze. “First, we have to change the composition of the Royal Council, then we can tackle omega liberation.”

“Are we starting a revolution together?” I do a swooning sigh.

They all laugh at that, and we finish breakfast, discussing how to approach changing an unchangeable world.

One can dream, right?

“Two of you? This isn’t fair at all,” I point out, stretching my arms overhead.

Lucas and Marco exchange glances. They’re almost matching in charcoal grey joggers. Lucas is wearing a black T-shirt and Marco has on a blue one, each stretched tight across their ridiculously ripped chests. Why is it so effortless for men to be this hot? Not the muscle part. They’re wearing sweats and they look like they stepped out of a magazine. It makes my year-old yoga pants and tank top look lazy in comparison.

“I thought it would be better to work on multiple attackers at once after last night. We can still do solo attacks too. Are you comfortable with working with both of us?”

“I guess, but I want to start with the throw-you-on-your-ass move.”

He laughs. “Fair enough. How about you try it on Lucas?”

I raise an eyebrow and study the alpha in question. “I don’t want to hurt the princess.”

“Princess?” he spits, annoyance flashing across his face.

“See? She’s already sensitive.” I lift my hand in his direction and give Marco an exasperated look. “I can’t work in these conditions.”

“Scared?” Lucas asks, a taunting smile replacing his earlier annoyance.

“Hardly.” I roll my neck and shake out my hands. “All right. Don’t go crying to Frank when I toss you on your ass.”

“You talk a lot of game for someone who’s barely started learning self-defense,” Marco says with a sigh. “Focus.”

I nod and move to the center of the mat, facing him like I normally do. His eyes stay on me while I wait for Lucas to attack. He’s quieter than Marco, so when his arms band around me, I’m taken a little by surprise. The shock doesn’t last long though. I remember everything Marco has taught me. Slipping my hands between Lucas’ arm and my neck to create room to breathe, quickly stepping back and putting my foot behind his leg, then holding on to the arm around my neck. I spin and throw my hips back, leveraging all my weight to take Lucas down. My muscles strain, but he falls over my leg and lands on the mat.

“Damn,” he mutters, hardly fazed by the move.

“Ha!” I smirk.

“That was your one time,” he says, grinning and hopping back to his feet with renewed vigor. “I’d like to see you do it again.”

“Fine.” I huff and head back to the center of the mat.

I really hate that he’s right, because I don’t manage to knock him down again. I break out almost every time, which is probably more important than tossing him on his ass. My ego is a little wounded, but I’ll survive.

“Okay,” Marco says after about thirty minutes. “Let’s try two on one.”

My thoughts immediately turn south, and my core clenches in need. Two on one doesn’t sound half fucking bad.
