Nico scrambles to his feet. "Your luna? She'll never be the Luna of the LoboGris."

"Nico," Rique says calmly, "don't insult Cassidy or Mattie. I can't stopsu hermanofrom killing you twice,sí?"

"How is it an insult?" Nico rasps out. "She's an omega. She can't be trusted." He starts to cry. "An omega-bitch killedMama." His eyes find mine. They burn with pure hurt, and suddenly he feels very, very young. "Don't do this, Carm.Por favore, hermano."

"It's done, Nico," Carmichael lifts his head from us to say. "You don't touch them. Don't even look at them. They're mine."

"Let's go, Nico," Rique says quietly. He tugs Nico out of the room.

Alize looks me over before nodding, seeming satisfied. "Alpha, Luna, Omega," she says before leaving, too.

Carmichael shuts the door behind her and sighs. We both move into his arms again. "Let's shower, little ones."

Carmichael

They weep in my arms. I pretend that it's water from the shower, but I know. My alpha-wolf knows. The first blood relative of mine that they meet and it was a clusterfuck. I'm shaking, my wolf pacing.

We get out, and I towel them both off. Mattie gets dressed, seemingly reluctant to allow me to touch his pristine clothes. I hide my grin and smooth my female's dress down over her body.

"I'm going to go cook breakfast, OK?" Cassidy whispers. Her caramel eyes are huge on her face. I slide my mouth over hers, a carnal kiss meant to reassure the snarling beast inside of me that she's mine, before patting her bottom. "Go ahead, sweetheart."

The door opens to reveal the intimidating female who beat up Nico.

"Alize!" Cassie greets her friend sadly. I make eye contact with my female's friend, letting her know without words that she is responsible for my female's safety when she's not with me.

They disappear, and I turn to Mattie, watching him press his hands over the non-existent wrinkles in his shirt. My neat little omega male makes me want to muss him up all over again. Instead, I take his hand in mine, and we leave the room, heading toward the kitchen and breakfast.

"Carm?" Mattie asks. He won't meet my eyes.

"¿Si, Nene?"We turn the corner to the offices.

"What was your brother talking about? He... he really didn't like Cassie."

Of course, he doesn't understand. Nico can tell that both of my mates are omegas, but all of his vitriol was focused on Cassidy.

I decide just to bite the bullet and tell him, "a female Omega killed my mother in a fit of jealousy."

Mattie's entire body jerks to a halt. His gasp fills the hallway. His wolf stands stock-still, just staring at me with the same bewilderment and disbelief that shines in Mattie's eyes.

"I was nine. I lost my mother. Nicolás and Renee lost their mother. Nico... he doesn't even remember her. My father cheated and then lost his mate and almost lost his mind. The pack lost their Luna. All because of a jealous, manipulative omega," I hiss. With every word, I take a step closer to him, crowding him, sending his wolf curling up in submission. I don't mean to, but the memory, the implication ofmi padre'sinvolvement, enrages me.

Mattie's eyes drop. His lower lip trembles as I let the remembered rage wash over me. We barely survived an Omega's manipulation.Papacouldn't resist Lily. I can't resist Cassidy.

"A tiny, sweet, omega female just like your sister,Flaquito."

Mattie isn't breathing, his body held in tight tension as he postures submission to my violent alpha wolf.

Then those caramel eyes meet mine.

"You're wrong." Stepping around me, he flees, leaving his last words lingering in my head.

You're wrong.

I don't know how long I stand there, staring at the puke-yellow paint on the wall until I can move. My entire body is trembling. My wolf is flashing me his intent... to Mark and Claim his mate so that he never, ever questions us again. How dare he say something so asinine and then run away? From me? An alpha? His fuckingalpha!?

I follow his trail on trembling legs. He's gone back to our room, not running to his sister in the kitchen with his tail between his legs.
