Cloe turns to me, eyes glaring hatefully. "I am the luna. Daan-"

She's interrupted when two of the wolves who came with Teague come out of the house, dragging an unconscious Ethan between them. "Beta, this is the male."

"No! Ethan!" Cloe spins around to Alpha Jax, who is eyeing Ethan distastefully. "Please, Alpha. She's lying -"

"Shut the fuck up, Cloe," Alpha Jax snarls.

"Ethan is a rapist. It doesn't surprise me to hear that he's involved in such shady crimes," Lyri's calm voice condemns Cloe's brother.

Cloe spins around with a shriek. "Liar! My brother is a good wolf!"

"He raped me, Cloe. Didn't you hear the rumors out there where you were hiding with our cowardly alphason?" Lyri smirks.

"You are a whore who got her crazed-freak of a lover to murder my brother!" Cloe cries out.

Lyri's mocking smile slides off of her face. "What did you just call my Sunshine?" she growls. "When your brother is selling pups to the highest bidder? What did you say about my male?"

Cloe is beyond angry. "It's not true. You've always been jealous of me. Now you're trying to get to me through my brother."

"You little cunt," Lyri spits furiously. "You and your brother are nothing. A rapist piece of shit and a weak bitch."

"I'm not weak!"

Lyri smiles. "Always have been, always will be. You could never beat me before. What makes you think you can now?"

"I can!" Cloe yells out. Her fingers are in her hair, tugging, and pulling.

Lyri just scoffs.

"I am, I am," sobs Cloe. Her mother tries to shush her, but it's too late. Maybe if her father were still breathing, he would be able to stop this. Too bad for Cloe; he's dead and gone.

"I'll beat you and prove to everyone that I'm better! I'm better than you, you bitch!"

"Challenge accepted," Lyri says smoothly.

Cloe's mouth gapes open with a soundless gasp. Her mother lets out a soft cry of fear. They fall into each other's arms, dismayed.

Alpha Jax barks a mocking laugh. "So be it. You'll fight tomorrow."

I speak up, "Beta Teague, you'll serve as a witness?"

"Of course," he responds.

A signal chimes from Teague's cell phone. He glances down and smiles. "Well, what do you know? We caught Alice."
