"No, but I could tell you wanted to." He smirked, then I felt someone's hand on my knee.
"Oh," I said loudly as it slid up my thigh.
"What is going on, Rosalie?" Foster looked irritated.
"Oh my gosh. You should just go home. You're being so mean and rude to me."
He let out a deep sigh. "I'm sorry. I'm just not looking forward to the confrontation I know I’ll have with Amelia tomorrow. Because she can't take a hint. And she'll show up at the apartment and demand answers."
"I just hope she's not wearing a negligee again," Oliver said, shaking his head. "The last time I had to see her titties shaking, well, it almost gave me a fright."
"You what?" I said, staring at him.
"Hey," he said, shrugging. "It wasn't me. It was her."
Foster rolled his eyes. “She wanted to seduce me, so she came over wearing a negligee. She was standing in the living room doing what she thought was a sexy dance, and Oliver came out of his room and basically—"
"Basically, I saw her titties popping about," Oliver said. "She's got a nice body, but, yeah, she's crazy."
"Oh my gosh," I said. "You two are hot messes."
Chapter25
Oliver
"And that's how babies are made, folks!" The comedian took a bow, and the crowd started laughing. I watched as Rosalie couldn't contain her giggles. She threw her head back and laughed out loud. Her long dark hair was shaking against her back. She looked over at me with warm crinkled eyes.
"Oh my gosh. He's so funny. He's absolutely the best."
"Yeah, he's pretty funny." I nodded in agreement. I looked over at Foster. "What'd you think?"
"Yeah, he's pretty good. I'd see him again." Foster smiled congenially. "Good job, Rosalie. You picked a great comedy show."
"Wow! Praise from my big bro. I'm shocked."
"Hey, I give praise when praise is due," he said.
"Well, I'm glad you're in a better mood," she said, smiling at him. I guess all he needed was a good couple of laughs. We stood with the rest of the crowd and headed out of the comedy club. I looked at my watch. It was midnight.
"So do you guys want to get one last drink or..." I looked at Oliver and Rosalie. Rosalie nodded eagerly.
"Yeah, let's do it."
Foster sighed. "I hate to say this, but I'm feeling a little bit beat up right now. Probably with the time change and all. And we have to be up early, to get stuff ready tomorrow."
"Yeah," Rosalie said, "I guess, but it's Friday night. I thought we could have some fun."
"But aren't we taking Alice out tomorrow?" Foster said.
"Yeah, but can’t you have two nights of fun?"
"Rosalie, I'll go for that drink with you if you want. Foster can go home." Rosalie looked at me with a small smile.
"I mean, you don't have to do that, Oliver."
"It's fine," I said, "Hey, we're friends, right?" She stared at me and nodded.
"Fine. Okay. We'll meet you back later."
