“Sore?”
Her cheeks blush pink at my question, but she nods shyly. “Uh, yeah a little bit.”
Even after everything that I’ve done to her body, she still gets shy when I bring it up. It’s adorable. “I’m going to run you a bath, and I’ll call room service and order breakfast while you soak.”
“You don’t have to do that. I’ll be fine.”
I silence her with my lips, kissing her hard, threading my hands into her hair and pulling her flush to my body. The kiss turns hungry quickly, her tongue tangling with mine.
Somehow, I pull my mouth from hers and sit back. “Let me take care of you, Auden. I want to.”
“Okay.”
Rising from the bed, I walk to the massive bathroom that is attached to the bedroom, and turn on the water in the clawfoot tub. I make sure the water is warm enough to soothe her, but not so hot that it will hurt her. When I return to the bedroom, she’s staring down at her phone, a deep frown on her lips.
“What’s wrong?”
Her head whips up, and her gaze lands on mine. She clears her throat and shakes her head. “Uh, just another message from my mom. I haven’t responded…you know, since the day they came over. It just…I don’t want to speak to them. No matter how many times she calls, or texts.”
Hell, I don’t blame her. Why would she want to subject herself to that shit? I hated seeing her parents hurt her and treat her with such disregard. Fuck, you don’t treat anyone like that, let alone your child. Thinking about it pisses me off again, and I feel the anger flitting through my veins.
“I understand. You don’t owe them anything, Auden. Not a damn thing. Take as much time as you need, and if you feel like you never want to speak to them again, then that is your decision.”
She nods, but I can still see the hurt in her eyes. As much as I wish that it didn’t, her estranged relationship with her parents is something that bothers her.
I pull her to me and wrap my arms around her, my hand sinking into her hair as I hold her to my chest. She sighs, her arms snaking around my waist.
“Thank you for being here for me.”
“Always, baby. How about we focus on our last day here, and we’ll worry about everything else later? You tell me what you want to do today. Whatever it is, and it’s done.”
Auden pulls back and looks up at me, her dark lashes framing her azure eyes filled with excitement. “Anything?”
“Anything.”
“'I’m going to think about it while I’m in the bath, is that okay?”
I nod. “Take your time. I’ll order breakfast, and we’ll figure it out after.”
She rises on her tiptoes and presses a quick, lingering kiss to my lips then pads to the bathroom, disappearing through the doorway. I try not to watch the globes of her ass bounce as she does, but fuck, I’m addicted to my girl.
MY girl.
I tamp down the bolt of arousal that courses through me and swipe the room-service menu from the table, then call in an order of nearly everything on it since I don’t know what she’s in the mood for. For my sake and hers, I stay out of the bathroom and turn the tv on and watch pre-season highlights while I wait for the food to arrive.
Thirty minutes later, there’s a knock at the door, signaling the food delivery. They roll in several carts, and fuck, my stomach grumbles at the smell. I tip the delivery guy, and then walk over to the carts, removing the lid on a bowl of fruit. Grabbing the bowl, I walk to the bathroom.
Auden’s submerged in the water with her head resting against the back of the tub.
“Food’s here. I ordered a little of everything because I wasn’t sure what you’d want. Want a bite?” I sit on the edge with the fruit.
“Yes, please. I’m ravenous.”
Well, considering last night…I’m not surprised.
I bring the ripe, fresh strawberry, a shade darker than the color of her hair, to her lips, so she can take a bite. She moans around the mouthful of fruit, and then suddenly, breakfast and the bath are the last things on my mind. I set the bowl down and drag the sweatpants down my hips, climbing in behind her.
She’s a drug, and I’ve been addicted from the first taste.
