I’m bouncing around the house making sure we haven’t forgotten anything. Kris at the moment isn’t up my ass to tell me to stop. Thank God! I’ve been cooped up in this house for the last week except for when I had to go see the doc to make sure we’re still on the right track. We only had one upset all week and that was when the nurse was doing the ultrasound. She let out of the bag that we’re having a boy. She said that his heartbeat was strong and he was right on track. I didn’t want to know but now that we do, I just want to shop for him.

“Pan! Gill is back!” I hollar up the stairs. Gill just put Gillian and Piper Lyn on a plane back to Nashville so they can start getting ready to go on tour, we leave right after the wrap party for the Wildflowers video. I’m super excited, and terrified, but Kris has gotten everything figured out. He wasn’t kidding when he called himself the plan man.

“Good! I’m gonna need his help with the mattress.”

“What does that boy think I am? Forty again?” Gill shakes his head with a gruff laugh.

“I would help but we both know how well that would work. I could probably get Lathan to help him.”

“Uggh-already got my hands full.” Lathan grunts coming past me with a wagon full of the appliances he’s been using. He’s following us down, since he doesn’t exactly have anything to go back to in DC. Turns out he lost his apartment three days before the call came about the job. Lucky us, because this man can cook all the goodies I like, and the greasy shit Kris craves. He did ask if we could stop there to pick up a guy he’s known forever that would be a lot of help on the road,

Kris was okay with it when he said the guy made crazy good barbecue. Kris and his barbecue.

“I’m taking Bowzer out before we leave. Pretty sure everything else is down here already.” I don’t wait for a response.

Kris and I haven’t even talked about what to name our son. I think we both assumed we were having a girl. I’m not sure how long I’ve been standing out here when arms wrap my waist.

“I think we should call him Kris.”

I feel his head tilt. “We don’t have to. I mean I know it’s sort of antiquated.” His voice is soft as he slides the strap of my sun dress aside and kisses my shoulder.

“I think you should have your namesake. Beside if she’s right and we’re having a boy he’s going to look just like you. I would not make a pretty boy if he looked like me. I have to many femine features.”

He chuckles. “Oh, I don’t know, Claudette looked more like our dad, and she was beautiful, I taok after our mom. I just hope he gets your eyes.” Another kiss to my shoulder. “And your nose.” He kisses my neck. “Your smile.” He gets to my ear and I cringe, shrugging my shoulders. “Whatever are we to do for thirteen hours all alone?”

“I haven’t the faintest idea. You know we haven’t been alone for more than a couple hours since we got to New York.”

“That fact has not escaped me. I know the doc said we still can’t-ya know, but I really need to get back to my church.”

I choke. “Kristopher Kingsman!” I scold him. “People can hear you. You can not do that for thirteen hours. I have to be able to walk at the end of this.”

“Oh, I know, but I can probably do ten and a half and still sing.” He chuckles turning me toward him. “I miss the taste of you.” The depth of his voice is enough to make my thighs go squish.23fe e

I push his face away. “Get out of here you perv.” I shake my head taking the pup back inside to grab Cat and my purse.

I’ve not actually been allowed in our new home yet but now I get to. Walking in, there’s stuff everywhere, so a lot like a new home. I turn back to Kris behind me.

“You made sure the boxes got put in the right places.”

“Well, you did take the time to mark them, would have been dumb to put kitchen appliances in the bedroom.” He suddenly makes this odd little face. “Then again-” I can’t help but smack his arm. He’s back to a one track mind apparently.

“Such a perv. What happened to the man that was so worried about me, he wanted to keep me in bed?”

“I still have that exact plan.” He waggles his brows. “But in all seriousness, I think-” His arms go out as we suddenly start to move. “Whoah-we need like an intercom or something, that would have been a mess if I’d been taking a piss.”

Gill came up in his Ford 450, which wouldn’t you know is exactly strong enough to tow us. So he’s driving while we get to unpack and if Kris gets his way I’ll be on my back shortly.

Popping an eye open I wake wrapped around Kris. We’re not moving. “Pan, what time is it? We didn’t set up a clock.”

He lets me go fishing into his ass pocket for his phone, lifting so that his abs flex deliciously. “Just after three? I think we made it to Washington, to grab Lathan’s friend.” He stretches more and I’m torn between licking him and tickling him till he has to pee. Damnit, now I have to pee.

Taking care of business, I wash my hands. Thank god this thing is functional. “Pan, I’m hungry.” I say coming out and looking at the bed which is empty. “Pan?”

“Kitchen.” His voice comes from the main part of our new home.
