I shouldn’t have ever let her climb into my lap. And I sure as fuck shouldn’t have let her kiss me. Because now it seemed like it was never going to end; Natalie’s hips grinding against my own, her tongue exploring my mouth, her hands grabbing at my hair. A few seconds later, I felt my cock stirring inside the fabric of my jeans, the length of it straining against my zipper.
And Natalie seemed to have felt it, too, everything she’d been doing coming to a complete stop.
“Sorry.” Her apology came out quiet. “I just felt your…and you seem pretty big. It’s not that I don’t want to, Kingston. I do. I really, really do. I’ve just never done it before.”
“What?” I scrunched up my face in confusion. “Shit, what are you saying right now?”
“I’m a virgin, Kingston,” she answered with a small rise of her shoulders. “But if you don’t want me to be, I don’t have to be one anymore.”
“Oh God. Oh my God.” I shifted her away from me, not stopping until she was sitting on the couch cushion beside me. “Natalie, what the fuck? How the hell are you still a virgin?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It’s just…looking and dressing the way you do,” I continued. “I thought I was dealing with some master-level seductress, not a girl who has no idea what she’s doing.”
“You seemed pretty happy with what I was doing,” she quietly added.
“It doesn’t matter.” I shook my head as I spoke. “It shouldn’t have happened, and it’s never going to happen again.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s one thing to sleep with your boss’s daughter, but it’s another thing to take her virginity,” I shot back. “Besides, I’m not going to be the asshole who ruins your first time for you. It should be with someone special to you, Natalie, not some guy who’s only going to be around until his contract is up.”
“But I want it to be with—” Natalie started.
But her response was cut off by Zeke making his way back into her apartment. He paused for a moment as he cast a look over at Natalie before he turned his attention back to me.
“I’m not interrupting anything, am I?” Zeke asked.
“Not a goddamn thing,” I replied as I moved toward the front door. “The next shift is all yours.”
Chapter 6
Natalie
What the hell was I thinking last night?
I’d made a complete asshole out of myself, trying to flirt with Zeke, and then trying to flirt with Kingston, too. I didn’t know why, but it was like I couldn’t keep my hands to myself whenever I was around one of them, like I was desperate to have them look at me, to have them touch me.
But King had made it clear as day that he wasn’t interested in hooking up with me. And from the way Zeke barely spoke to me after he’d gotten back to the apartment, it was obvious that he wasn’t much interested in me, either.
“Are you okay?” Kelly asked as she sipped her latte, sitting beside me on a bench in the quad. We’d agreed to meet up post-party, the same way we always did, to catch up on the guys we’d flirted with or the phone numbers we’d exchanged. The quad was our favorite place to rendezvous early in the morning, since it was always so deserted, which made it the perfect spot to sit and gossip in peace.
“Why? Don’t I look okay?
“You kind of look like you just saw a ghost,” she replied. “Or, like, a ghost saw you or something. You’re all pale—”
“I think I’m just dying of shame,” I answered with a forced laugh.
“Dying of shame?” Kelly pouted. “What happened, Natalie? The last thing I saw, you were hitting it off with that cute guy from our senior seminar.”
“I tried hitting on the guys my dad hired to keep me from getting kidnapped or shot or whatever,” I murmured.
“Wait. Guys?” Kelly pressed. “Both of them? I mean, I knew you had a crush on the blond one, but you’re into the dark-haired guy, too?”
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” I sighed. “It’s not like we have a ton in common. Fuck, I don’t know if we have anything in common.”
“Hmm. An obsession with the unattainable,” Kelly mused.
