“Well, then,” I started, my hand going toward the bottle. “I don’t mind if I do.”

“Oh, no way!” Natalie chuckled as she moved the bottle away from me. “If you want to have a drink with me, you have to play a game with me, too.”

“A game?” I hummed. “What sort of game?”

“Let’s play Never Have I Ever,” she suggested. “It’s something Kelly always likes to do when we meet new people. It’s a good way to get to know a lot about a person, you know?”

“And is that what you want?” I asked. “You want to get to know a lot about me?”

Natalie shrugged in response. “I just want to have a little fun before Mr. Serious gets back.”

I chuckled at Natalie’s nickname for Kingston. “Fine, then. Let’s have a little fun.”

“Never have I ever…flown a plane?” Natalie guessed as we sat on the floor of the living room. We’d spent a minute or two rearranging the furniture, giving us more space in the cabin. I’d told Natalie that I wanted more space just so that the room didn’t feel as contained and claustrophobic, and she’d readily agreed.

But the real reason was because I needed more space away fromher. She was more alluring tonight than ever before, her smile wide as she stared back at me, her T-shirt riding up her thighs, threatening to reveal her panties underneath. And when I noticed that her nipples were hard beneath the fabric of her shirt, too, even though it was nice and cozy inside the cabin’s walls, it took everything inside of me to not fuck her, right on the spot.

“Never flew a plane. Sorry.” I grinned back at her before I took my turn. “Never have I ever…gotten drunk before prom?”

“Ooh. Nice try.” Natalie chuckled. “I never went to my prom.”

“Really?” I was surprised by her answer. “Why not? I’m sure a billion guys asked you out.”

“Uh, no thanks.” Natalie chuckled again. “Go to prom with a guy expecting to get laid by the end of the night? Where was the upside in that for me?”

“I think the upside was supposed to be the whole getting laid part.” I smirked.

And Natalie shrugged. “What can I say? It just didn’t seem worth it to me back in high school.”

“Yeah, well, I’m sure college has been a different story,” I continued. “It’s a whole different ballgame, at least. Your chances of coming across someone who actually knows what the hell they’re doing shoot way up.”

“With some guys, maybe,” Natalie mused, tapping her fingers along the side of her empty shot glass. “Okay, my turn. Let’s see…never have I ever had sex on prom night.”

“Oh, that was evil.” I laughed, holding out my glass. I downed the shot, slightly enjoying the burn of the liquor streaming through my chest. Typically, I wouldn’t have been drinkingon the job, but since my shift was over as soon as Kingston came back to the cabin, I didn’t feel so bad about potentially getting a little tipsy.

Besides, it was an excellent way to pass the time, and if I was starting to feel under the influence, I was going to be way more interested in settling down for a nap than trying to put the moves on my very sexy opponent. It was also a great way to get Natalie to trust me, which I had a feeling was going to come in handy, especially if we had to suddenly move her to another secret location or keep her off the grid for longer than expected.

“My turn,” I murmured, tilting my head to the side and trying to come up with something Natalie would’ve done at least once in her life. “Never have I ever…slept with someone after the first date.”

It wasn’t technically a lie—I’d had “dates” thatwerejust sex, but I was willing to use a loophole to catch Natalie on this one. But Natalie didn’t make a move, her empty glass still held in her hand.

“Wait. Seriously?” I groaned as I held out my glass for another round. “You’ve never slept with someone on the first date before? I thought that was practically the whole point of dating in college.”

“You’ve really gotta stop thinking of me as just another college kid.” Natalie smirked as she poured my second drink. “Or else you’re going to be wasted by the end of this game.”

“Double shots mean that I get to go again, right?” I asked. “So I don’t end up passed out on the floor?”

“Go for it.” She grinned.

And I hastily downed my drink, before I asked the next question. “Never have I ever…had sex with a guy.”

I was already smiling in victory at my sneaky wording, my hand moving toward the whiskey in Natalie’s hand, ready to pour her the first shot she would’ve taken in what felt like an hour. But again, Natalie didn’t move, even as her eyes shifted away from mine.

Fuck.

What the fuck?

“What the fuck?” My question came out low. “Natalie, are you a virgin?”
