Page 2 of Purrfectly Kissed

The pussy-blocking jerk.

Double sigh.

It had been years since she’d thought of those troublesome times when puberty had clashed with common sense. Oh yeah, but Jessica never did anything half-assed.

If she was going to make a fool of herself, she was going all out. She had even fancied herself in love a time or two,or maybe seven. But each one of her would-be suitors, fuzzy-faced youths of course, had been run off by the big tough Neta. He always was a spoilsport.

High school had been one long running test ofhow frustrated could a girl get before she kills her brother.

Not that college was any better. But that was her fault for commuting. She should have known better than to take a brand new automobile as a bribe to live home and drive to all her classes.

Another weary sigh.

Her hymen was getting way too fucking comfortable inside of her. The damn thing thought it had tenure or something. One thing was certain, being an almost virgin sucked.

One time so did not count.

Especiallythatfirst time. Jessica was all about reclaiming her virginity these days. Might as well, since she could hardly call what happened between her and the lanky normal sex.

Ugh.

Her Tiger could not agree more. The striped beastie was eager to find a male, claim him, and start pumping out kids.

Grrrrrrrrr.

Not that Jessica was exactly ready for that, but the rest of it. Yeah. Why the fuck not? Dating was more difficult than ever since Hunter had found his own mate, truly ascending to his rightful position as Neta. He’d been cleaning up the Pride left and right, and they were all the better for it.

But Jess was still alone. And that sucked.

What was wrong with men these days? Didn’t they like sex?

Thankfully, Hunter had stopped harassing her about her non-existent sex life. He was too busy with his own mate to police his baby sister’s dates.

Jessica’s beast chuffed when she thought of the new Nari of the Pride. Elissa Phoenix, soon-to-be Maverick, if Jess’s idiot brother ever got the woman to the altar, was simply amazing. The tiny blonde was everything Jessica wanted in a sister, and she was so happy for them both.

The couple was already expecting the next generation of Pride royalty, but for some reason the woman still did not have a ring on her finger.

SMH. Dope.

The least her big bro could do was make an honest woman of her. Weddings were not a Shifter thing, but Elissa had lived as a normal for most of her life until she’d been claimed and experienced the Puspa, turning her into a Tiger Shifter as well.

So yeah, Hunter definitely needed to step up and marry the woman before Jessica’s new niece or nephew made an appearance.

Really? Does it look like I am unhappy or something, Jess?

The Nari of the Pride, and Jessica’s closest girlfriend, pushed the thought inside her mind’s eye.

The younger Tiger chuffed, having forgotten she wasn’t alone for a minute. Jess had been running so fast and far through the gray and white woods, she’d been lost in her own thoughts.

Communicating telepathically wasn’t something she did very often, but it was a treasured characteristic of close Pride mates.

Since Elissa was new to the whole thing, it was quite the surprise she could communicate that way at all. Having received the gift ofthe blossoming, the legendary transformation known amongst the ancient Bengali Shifter Tribes as Puspa, after she’d been claimed by her mate, she was discovering new abilities all the time.

Jessica was in complete awe of the female. So rare, it was now a myth among Tiger Shifters, thePuspaonly happened when a couple was intertwined by destiny and blessed by the Fates.

With it, the human partner received the gift of an animal spirit and the ability to shift into that animal. But that only happened if the gods or Fates allowed it, and only if the recipient was deemed worthy.

Elissa had obviously been chosen. Jess bumped her head gently against the other female. Her Tiger was small and beautiful, just like the woman. She was strong, though.
