My stomach growls with satisfaction and I see the corner of his mouth tip up.

“Thank you. It smells wonderful!” I pick up a piece of bacon and savor the taste in my mouth.

“I should have stopped more to feed you on the way here.” He grumbles from his own plate.

“It was fine. I got plenty of much needed rest.” I smile, trying to reassure him.

We are just finishing with breakfast when we hear a vehicle pulling up. Gio goes to the door, looking out before opening it all the way. Staying behind him, I peep from the side, unsure of who could be here.

The man that steps out of the driver side has me rubbing my eyes to be sure that I am seeing correctly.

“Twins?” My whispered word has Gio, looking back at me before he steps further out onto the porch.

“Brother.” He nods to the other man who looks so much like him. “Hello, Fiona. It’s nice to see you again.”

I was so busy staring at his brother that I didn’t notice the stunning woman covered in tattoos that got out of the passenger side.

“It’s always nice to see my super handsome brother-in-law.” She smiles back.

“Hey.” The man next to her says back, pulling her closer. She just laughs up at him, the love she feels showing clearly on her face.

“Alessandro, Fiona, this is Raven.” Gio nods my way. “Raven, this is my brother and sister in law.”

Fiona smiles brightly at me. “I brought you a few things that I thought you might need while here. Gio said that you may need some warmer clothes since the weather is always iffy this time of year.”

“Thank you.” I answer.

“I’m going to visit with Raven for a bit. You men can bring the bags in.” She points back towards the car. Neither man batting so much as an eye at her command. “Come on dear, I’ll show you where everything is in case you need something. It has a root cellar but the latch is hidden.” She walks right past me into the cabin, expecting me to follow.

Smiling towards the door, I follow her inside. She seems to be a woman completely sure of herself. Something that I’m not but really want to be. Maybe she can teach me how.

“I wasn’t expecting you to bring Fiona with you.” I say to my brother as we move further away from the cabin.

He obviously has something important to tell me considering how quickly they showed up since we just arrived late last night.
