“If you killed someone, would you stay?”
“Only if I had to or if I wanted people to think I was innocent.”
“I’m sure there’s another entrance.”
“Yeah, the back. Come on.”
Chapter 5
EVE
Iwent around the bar and grabbed Hallow’s hand to lead him to our super-secret alley entrance. It was only a secret from inside the bar. Between the restrooms sat what looked like a broom closet, a locked narrow door, but it was never locked. All us employees knew the right way to open it. You had to lift on the handle and turn to the right. The door would pop open eventually. Behind it laid a long hallway leading to the alley. Hallow folded in his wings to fit close to his back as I fiddled with the door. Once it cracked open, I motioned for us to get in quick so we could shut it behind us.
We stepped into darkness. Right away we heard a fuss. I flipped on the light ready to fight. Against the wall, Donette as Lydia Deetz leaned, her bare leg up and around Beetlejuice’s backside. His black and white striped pants pooled at his ankles. Her red panties hung from his mouth as he pounded her. She repeated his name over and over while he snarled, his mouth full of red lace. I noticed her exposed breast and turned into Hallow to hide my eyes. He snaked his arm around my back. I’d seen Donette practically naked before, but it’d just dawned on me that I’d walked in on an intimate act.
Unfazed by us, they went on seemingly even harder and faster. My breath hitched as I listened to Donette cry out in ecstasy. Leaning into Hallow’s warm chest, my insides yearned to cry out too, though they never had. I could only imagine how she felt. They were still at it. Hallow watched them while I waited, my face pressed against his skin. A good minute passed as Hallow fondled my hair. He might as well have been stroking my pussy with the way it responded.
Glancing up, I whispered, “Maybe we should just leave.”
Hallow brushed my hair back and his eyes held a hungry gaze. We were so close I could feel the big D in his pants against me. He liked what he’d seen. After he took a breath, he simpered. “We can leave out the back. Let’s get out of here.”
“I’m still on the clock.”
“Your boss is dead. You said you’d see me after work. Let’s blow this joint.”
“I can’t.” I mean, Grady said I needed to get laid. And he couldn’t really be dead. But this party had to be his surprise for us. I couldn’t just leave, could I? “I’ve got to find out who killed Grady.”
Hallow seemed content with that. “Yeah, we’re supposed to be finding a killer.”
“I doubt it’s either one of them.” Lydia and Beetlejuice were still fucking against the wall. Dern.
“You know’em?”
“That’s my best friend, Donette. And Beetlejuice.”
“You don’t know him?”
“Nope, she just met him.”
“Doesn’t look like it.” Hallow narrowed his eyes.
“That’s Donette for you. Bless her heart. I would never.”
“Never what? Let a guy you just met fuck you against the wall?”
Stepping back, I crossed my arms. “No.”
“Not even me?” He winked and squeezed me back to him.
I put my hands up on his bare chest in protest. We’d gotten too close, too quick. Every ounce of my body begged for him to fuck me against the wall, but my head argued. My heart broke the tie. It didn’t want to get broken.
Hallow’s arms fell away, but I didn’t move from his chest.
Peering down, he lifted my chin. “Are you sure you don’t want to leave with me? We don’t have to go out. I’ll make sure you get home. It’s only a matter of time before Riff thinks about the backdoor, and we won’t have a way out.”
“Riff? You on a first name basis with these bikers?”
Hallow looked away from me to study the scene again. “There were name tags.”
